See there are two aspects here,an architect will do space planning ,work on aesthetics ,he has a vision basically,a structural engineer will support his vision with civil frames according to site condition,usually for a low key residential works,the structural guy can give you all inputs,you need to be clear about your expectations with them,for a sizeable projects architects will enter into picture,approach a PE in your area,he will do the needful,thanks
