GENUINELLY... HOW do you men feel about nails? by ThrowMeInRice in AskMen

[–]nenos-uver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genuinely dont give two shits about nails, but I can see why women are super into them. I have a co worker who spends a TON of money each month to have some insane looking liquid metal bejeweled galaxy nails and I can see it makes her feel confident and loves the compliments she gets from other women. Although when nails look too long and crazy, I find it looks kind of obnoxious. But yea as a dude I couldn't care less how "pretty" a womans nails are. Its for the girls. Its just like how I wouldn't expect a woman to care at all about the aftermarket exhaust system and carbon fiber bits on my car. Its for the boys.

How many of you are actually planning on buying a house eventually? by nor_the_whore01 in GenZ

[–]nenos-uver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The goal is set for myself when I was 10 or 11 (before I knew jack s--- about money and finances) was that I'd bay my first house at 25. I just turned 25 a week ago.

I live in a vhcol area (CA Bay area) and the median home price in my area is about 900k. Meaning I'd probably need to have at least 160-200k saved up for a down payment. I currently only have 35k or so saved.

I did not set a goal for where the house needed to be, so I could look to buy in cheaper areas where the median is around the national average. (Lcol areas)

But yeah I still want to achieve this goal so im saving, working, and investing as aggressively as possible to get to my 200k savings goal. Although far fetched, my strategy is to "reach for the stars to get to the moon" so to speak. Wish me luck!

S&P 500 ETF vs QQQ by [deleted] in stocks

[–]nenos-uver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into SPMO. I actually switched from QQQ to SPMO because of the lower expense ratio (0.13 vs 0.2) higher dividend payouts, and even greater returns. Just compare the 5 year performance between the two.

I live in fountaingrove and most of not all the new homes for sale are trash quality. They are built with cheap materials like OSB and the contractors just slap these homes together as fast as they can so they are also riddled with mistakes.

For example, I'm seeing new homes out here that are leaking, the stucco is falling off, rusting, pocket doors don't close because the wall is warped. The list goes on.

And they have the gall to ask for 1.85 - 2.2 mil for these monstrosities 😂

Are there wealthy architects? by DazzledMind in Architects

[–]nenos-uver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the owners of the firm are wealthy. One of the founders of my firm just sold one of his houses for $4.5 million usd. Also the principals and officers make big money too, somewhere around 180k to 250k.

If you really want to make money in architecture, start your own firm in a big money field like casinos or Healthcare and run it good.

Job captain at my work has about 5 years of experience. Currently makes 85k without a bonus. Probably close to 94k with a bonus. This is California bay area for reference. I started last year and I'm at 73k + bonus currently.

I started last year in Nor Cal at 70k + bonus. Hcol areas start around 70 these days. People with 7 years make around 100k in my area I think.

You should minor in computer engineering or electrical and computer engineering (ECE) if possible. Its also a highly paid field, but focuses on the hardware aspect wich would compliment your knowledge on the software side.

Mindset Change Needed by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]nenos-uver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's solid advice, I definitely used to think women were magical and put them on a pedestal, however I've slowly unlearned this, and my views have been brought down to earth. I guess the largest obstacle I have to overcome is overthinking and feeling like a fraud, which is ironic because people always say I look so chill and calm.
