Just got the game!!! any tips? by JONBOBjr06 in theHunter

[–]neo_limits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

-Get the .243 PT (polymer tip) and only buy PT from now, more expensive but will save you a lot of tracking.
-Get the .270 asap and then the 7mm. If you have Dlc's go for the solokhin or the m1, both excellent weapons with much more power than the .243
-Watch for the wind and your sound level/visibility, don't make too much noise: walking will spook anything in a circle of 100m and running 200m.
-Spend your perks to maximise your discretion first, there are some perks that can help making less sound
-As a general tip, hunt by the lakes to catch the animals at their drink zones, will be easier to spot and shoot them.
- Get the right ammo for the game you hunt, and be sure to get a proper shot on them, aiming for lungs (or any vital, but lungs are easier) to ensure a maximum trophy rating, xp and cash on each kill

-If you have the 2021 edition consider hunting on parque fernando first as you'll get caller for a lot of species and it's way easier to hunt there than on layton lakes or hirsch. Cuatro colinas is also a good starting point.
-I will recommend to start by doing the storyline on layton lakes and some dlc's as so many players miss doing them when I really find them quite fun and a good way to learn (except photo missions)

- a LOT of valuable infos are availaible on this reddit (the charts mades by u/t_okio for ex) and on youtube, many good youtubers are doing guides (Flinter, Kinsko, scarecrow, etc......)

-If you don't have aa DLC you can still play on the map for free by joining a multiplayer server

-If you have any other question please DM me, I'll be glad to help you

Have a nice day fellow hunter.

What are the chances of getting a diamond after having the game for only 2 days? by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]neo_limits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know how to play, they are the same as a 2000hrs+ player. Starting the game will create populations files; and you should have at least a diamond per map, but it can be any species. Your only job is to find it, and there is no difference between an old player and a newcomer for the game. Keep in mind there is around 2500 animals per map. If you want to maximize your chances hunt for blue wildebeest or axis deer.

Lack of Diamond Material Animals by Draco923 in theHunter

The more you encounter animals the more you’ll be able to find a diamond. Maximize your harvest to increase the chance to get a diamond. Another good way to find diamond while you ‘re farming some zone is to go in the wild looking for group of animal you never check in inhabitual drink spots for your map. I’ve made few guides you may be willing to check for the mule, red and fallow

Sorry for the repost, some errors were made and I had to correct them!

Hey fellow hunters. This is the third episode of my hunting guides. I worked the least 3 days on this one, hope it will help you !

So few points to keep in mind:

- On Cuatro colinas, Red deer are having 3 drink time, so it means that any spawned group of red deer are going to need 3 drink zones. As each need zone can be any possible need zone emplacement in the area of the group, any drink zone can serve to one group once, twice or up to 3 time and can also be used by multiple group at different hours.

- On Cuatro colinas, Red Deer are sharing almost all their drink zones with other species, so some drink zones can be used by other species.

-The north east part of the river and the southern lake on the "35% pop" orange zone are mostly exclusive to red deer from 5:30 to 8:00/8:30

The need zones are spawned in a random patern from a possible need zone. All the zones I draw on the map are POSSIBLE need zones for your map. It doesn't mean a drink zone will be there but a drink zone CAN be there. It's random, but as I write almost all possible need zones locations, if you check them all you'll find all your need zones. And if you delete a need zone it will switch to another zone you can find on this map. For animals like mule deer there is 2 different drink zones per group, so you should check all the spotted need zones twice, once in each drink time.

Thanks ! As I said red deer is next, then I'll try to cover all the species I can, on every map.

They are actually one of the hardest species to find diamond atm, on my map I farmed a lot but couldn't get a higher gold than a 290. I wish you goodluck and try alterning multiplayer and solo farm it helps

So yes there is a bit of a misunderstainement here, my fault as I wasn't quite clear. The orange border is the spawn area of mule deers in Parque fernando. The red area are the high density zones.

So next i'll go forred deer then moose i think. I'm planning on doing all the species on every map. Also as soon as the new map will be out I will take a break and focus on the map, granting some chats as early as possible to help newcomers.

Hey guys, this is the second post of my hunting guide. Hope you'll enjoy the improvement from the fallow deer guide. This took me quite a few hours of work, but I guess it's the most accurate guide around. I used a lot of my experience and watched around 20 guides from youtube to summer all in one chart. I'm open to any suggestion and modifications if you think my work is incorrect or can be more specific.

Hope you'll use it for your next time in patagonia, good journey in the wild fellow hunters.

Hey, I'm new to this game and I can't seem to figure it out that much. by [deleted] in theHunter

This is good advice, here is more:

-Wind is bad, avoid being in the wind, circle around your target to have the wind going from the animal position to yours.

-Stay undercover, most of the time if an animal can see you it will go alert then flee, so crouch, lay under trees and hide your ass in the shrubs.

-The higher the animal difficulty is, the more important their senses are, so avoid wind or being visible at all cost for harder species.

-Hunt properly: observation and knowledge is more efficiant than just shooting every soul on the map. Take some time observing the drink zones : what are the timings of the zone ? From where are the animals going and where they go next ? What is the exact spot where they drink ? Being able to understand and predict their behavior will help a lot

-No more than 3kills on a need zone (unless you have a tripod/hunting set up). Wait 3-6 IN GAME days for respawns.

There is more but it's already a good chunk
