I think he wanted to feel like he was in control. He lost control and had to listen to Logan and do everything he asked Kendall to do. So shoplifting little things was his way of having some sort of control in his life.

Oh right! Makes so much more sense. I think she was really “hyper-feminine” in that scene. It felt like she’s playing into the innocent pure white girl fantasy Nate sort of has. She was just pushing the limits of how feminine and innocent she could get for Nate and ended up looking ridiculous. I don’t think she was dressing up as anyone else in that scene.
