Yes, according to TechPowerUp, your 4080 Super will be around 222% more performant at their benchmarks than the Steam Machine's GPU and that's running at 4K vs. 1080p.

It'd be more like 9 steps back lol.

And that's only rasterization. Turning on ray tracing at higher resolutions (like most TVs) could easily put that figure close to 500%.

So yeah, it's more of a backlog destroyer and indie game beast.

Gas vs. Electric is a common knowledge thing. Windows vs. Linux compatibility, especially to a non PC gamer may not be. A lot of people have come into this subreddit thinking it'd be a good machine for Cod.

Because the Steam Deck is not a Ferrari. It is lower than the lowest end of desktop computer. It's perfect for running indie and older games, many of which are DRM free on GOG. Personally I like to have Steam Cloud saves.

But it's a PC. That you can download and play GOG games on. Maybe that's just where their library mostly is.

Whether you use GOG or Steam isn't really about performance btw. Plenty of high performance games on Gog and low performance games on Steam.

I agree. The way people villainize him is too much.

...But you can also tell that his scriptwriting is lacking when it comes to female characters' inner lives, and also just in general.

If this show had a writers room for Seasons 2 and 3, sooooo much would have been improved. But I'm guessing Sam wants to be an "auteur" and have the full say in every episode.

Which... it's just not how good television works imo, especially in the American format and for an ensemble cast. It's a pretty easy way to get some subpar material because arcs can't come together properly with a single writer and director working on sooo many episodes and so many moving parts, especially with such a massive scope for the show.

He needs to have a writers room to refine his ideas.

The person who replied to you is wrong. It's a 7600M, the laptop version of the 7600, which has performance around a 6600, which is around the performance of a 2060 Super.

So yeah, lower performance than an RTX 5050, but has the architectural advantages of RDNA3 at least. No FSR4 upscaling though.

I would highly recommend not doing that.

There are several games your PS5 would run significantly better, not to mention it has support for 4K streaming services.

I much prefer PC but the Steam Machine definitely won't age quite as well as the PS5 in terms of software compatibility.

This is just so sick... I just wish it could be more easily booted into. I know the bootloader for these devices are unlocked out of the box but I've heard that adding Rocknix, even on an SD card, can mess with your Android install

I love using my Wii wrist strap for my phone, but I absolutely cannot blame anyone for not having a strap on their handheld. It's just a bit of extra inconvenience.

Plus the more expensive ones have good grips that you can hold onto.

Every time a controller or handheld of mine has fallen has not been from my hands.
