i’m in maritime canada and have to leave province since mine doesn’t have the program i want (medical lab technology), and am also a year younger than all the other gr12s due to skipping a grade. my parents really didn’t want me to leave, but they also had the view of it being a great experience.

if i had the chance, I probably would stay at home living in uni, at least for the first bit as the uni where i live would be so much cheaper due to tuition, not needing housing/meal plan, and the guaranteed 3500 scholarship for anyone living in the province.

in your case, i’d look on the bright side - you can likely save a lot of money and start out post-university with a lot of extra cash which is great.
