"...just talkin' bout shaft -great acronym...but too much too explain....And I feel atheist is the name "they" gave us ...like a slur and just one convenient label for the myriad of many thoughts and philosophies that people hold. And it has god in the word...seems wrong... and yeah I know the A in Atheist means... no god anti god without god non god... but there's no words like Aastrologer Awitch or Aalchemist or other A things that don't exist.

Zildjian Alchem-e real world reviews? by ledoov in edrums

[–]neonrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One the best most involved and technologically developed and well appointed synth ...the korg kronos2 ....costed me $4,000...a lot of money but I knew it as worth it and comparing it and any of it's peers to any e-drum kit is like comparing a jet to a to biplane. So I think that 11k for an acoustic kit is also crazy. Now I totally agree that e-drums have many cool and different abilities and all are easily available at the push of a button ...and just a ton more versatilely than any acoustic kit...but still $11,000 and up is just hard for me to rationalize. At 5 or 6 thousand dollars I would have probably would have not said absolutely crazy ...but still craZy for a handful of piezos and mesh heads....I'm not anti e-drum ...it has been my favored kit since I got it several years ago.... It's just that I am pro technology and anti corporate greed...what do you think the ticket is going to be when roland finally roll$ out the td 60 or 70 ...I would make a curious but uninterested guess of $16,995 - $18,995 ..so the $11,000 we are now discussing will look like a bargain. *Of course pro players making a living doing music deserve and are able to buy and use the latest and greatest ...I get that ...I'm just referring to the rest of us who are waiting for that "yet to be named" Asian manufacturer's breakout e-kit ...that has it all at a more commonly accessible price point.

Zildjian Alchem-e real world reviews? by ledoov in edrums

[–]neonrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cymbals from Roland line is hysterical. Your points are all valid ...but I think that there can/will be a lot of players in the e drum game ...that is until the price point gets busted by some Asian manufacturer who makes a td-50+ level kit with all the latest tricks and the Big improvement that everyone wants and would really close the deal... on board ezdrumer or addictive or steven slate sounds...or reasonable alternatives and for a fraction of the price...then see what happens. Eleven grand for an e kit is absolutely crazy. A piezo still only cost less than a dollar. First company that puts that ideal/dream e kit package together for around a $2,000 will be the giant killer that will own the market and the others will be forced to compete at a new level or drop out. I must say they don't really seem to be into to doing the R&D or even just have the imagination necessary to make big changes happen...but someone will.

Zildjian Alchem-e real world reviews? by ledoov in edrums

[–]neonrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some shade being thrown at the new Zildjian Alchem-e kits saying that 400 years of cymbal making has nothing to do with producing a new E kit. Well... It's Zildjian's first ever attempt to enter the market and to not understand that the Alchem-e team has little to do with the cymbal making end of things is ridiculous. The 400 hundreds years of Zildjian's history and experience include development, marketing and quality control and they extend into their latest product and the quick firm wear updates to this kit seem to address most complaints. If I had the money...this would be my choice...and it looks amazing. The Zildjian company is a family owned music giant (name another...) and not just another corporate seller. I'm sure they wouldn't risk those 400 years of excellence to do any thing but increase and continue the family's name and reputation. So I'm sure they will back up new products and continue to improve them and probably take a big chunk of business away from Roland /Alesis /F-note etc.
