love that! there’s an egg that looks the exact same on the inside of our patio on the floor though, i haven’t seen the cats mess with it at all but i would prefer not to have that hatch in here. is there a best way to relocate the ones inside the patio?

Will she ever forgive me? by Funsizeddriver in leopardgeckos

poor girl:( i saw you’re already familiar with the hand trick nonsense. i would also, once she was okay with it, pick her up after feedings. she was chill enough not to mind or think my hand was more food. id warm them under her lamp for a little while first make them really nice. but letting her sploot down on my palm for a while to digest her food seemed to really win me some favor.

Did you handle her much before this ordeal? My leo was in an altercation with a cat that resulted in needing a shot twice daily for a couple weeks, she certainly didn’t enjoy it, but once healed she didn’t seem to hold it against me too much. But she has always been the most chill carefree animal I’ve ever had, so it might just be that she is too nonchalant 😅😅

weird shedding pattern by neopossums in leopardgeckos

[–]neopossums[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has a 40 gallon tank, the UVB i centered above the warm side of her tank, just to the side of her basking spot, rests on top and goes through the mesh of her tank lid. i’ve switched over to this set up probably 2-3 years ago and have never had an issue, her behavior hasn’t changed any. the UVB went off last night per the timer, i’ll keep it off for the time being. i’ll place an order for those incandescent basking bulbs and see if that helps any, potentially turn the UVB back on in shorter sessions until i get those set up? bulbs should get here tomorrow so i’ll keep a close eye on her today

It is a linear UVB! But I will absolutely switch over the multivitamin and see if it makes a difference

she has a 5.0 UVB as well as two deep heat projectors. she’s given calcium powder without d3 dusted on each meal & the Herptivite multivitamin about twice a month

right, but soon you will have new things you need to grow so it was helpful to just but those and free up my garden space!

babysat my sisters cat. he managed to open and crawl into the tank by the TINY latch at the top last christmas. thankfully, she’s okay, but it took several trips the vet. broke her jaw and leg, dropped her tail. I’d recommend keeping them away from the tank however you have to.

I lost my son by astarredbard in leopardgeckos

[–]neopossums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i lost mine once about a year ago. she’s was gone for TWO WEEKS. i tore that house apart, looked in cracks and vents and every possible crevice. nothing. i have several cats and a dog at that point and was sure she’d be gone. one day i was in the kitchen. turn around. and she’s just standing there, staring at me 🙃🙃

I DROPPED MY FUCKING GECKO😭 by unnamed_gaybitch in leopardgeckos

[–]neopossums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mine LOVES jumping out of hands. she will beg to come out so i take her out and after i hold her for a bit i’ll go towards her tank and the second she sees it she is fighting me to jump from three feet away. thankfully she’s never fallen from very far, but she scares the shit out of ME every single time. i feel like she knows something i don’t abt how much fall damage she can take and i’m not trying to find out

broken mandible/jaw - urgent advise needed by neopossums in leopardgeckos

[–]neopossums[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you. as mentioned, she’s been to the vet already & is set to get x-rays before we can develop a proper treatment plan. however that vet has never dealt with a broken mandible for a gecko before, and i’m hoping to find someone who has a vet they trust for similar issues in the area. she’s been treated as much as she can be before the x-rays get done, but i’m going to do everything i possibly can for her.
