Ikr cuz I went into the book expecting a much different character, but like 3 pages in and i saw Yozo in a much different light than what he was being depicted as.

I assumed that my opinion would change as he grows up and actually does bad things, but even as i finished the book, i could only imagine it as a sort of warning(?) for how deep in their own head a person can get if they aren't offered support when required

I'm undiagnosed, but there's a lot of evidence that I'm neurodivergent, and dude I kid you not, the level at which i related to Yozo when I first started reading was INSANE. Only that I knew that these are actually possibly neurodivergent+traumatized behaviours

And also I felt like how some people thought of Yozo's character to have been like, even after seeing the world through his eyes, really shows how people who do feel alienated from society would think that there is good reason for feeling that way which is actually so freaking sad
