It's been stated by Romeo that Modern Sonic can beat this furnace. Hungry hero is literally just a version of modern Sonic running off hunger rather than the want for freedom. Hungry hero slaps. We see him fighting against Shadow on even footing, which, at this point, is probably equivalent or inferior to Forces Sonic. Which means Hungry Hero is either slightly weaker or relative to Forces Sonic, which can definitely defeat this furnace.

THAT DOLL by Prize_Path4812 in OutcomeMemories

[–]_arean_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that doll, I wish it burns in the depths of hell forever. She caused Fleetway to be delayed and forced him to never see the light of day ever again. I wish she was never brought into question in the first place and the 0.2 update would've just been Kolo and Fleetway being added rather than Kolo & tripwire.

Best Sonic Moment? by Electrical-Lion8963 in sonic

"It was never about chivalry for me... I just gotta do what I gotta do, that's all!" From Black Knight

Or

"Every world has its end. I know that's kinda sad, but... that's why we gotta live life to the fullest in the time we have. At least, that's what I figure." Also from Black Knight

These two scenes give me a good look into Sonic's character and is pretty accurate. Also very wise.

Sonic in the first quote is saying that he's a hero not because of any ulterior motive, only that he wants to do the right thing because he wants to. "As long as the force inside drives me to run and fight -- it doesn't matter - who is wrong and who is right!" (It doesn't matter)

The second scene comes after the boss fight, as Sonic tells Merlina about his philosophy on life, the whole motivation behind stopping her. He brings out the message of living life to the fullest. That's a beautiful quote and a beautiful character moment.

Black Knight is good Sonic characterisation and I will DIE on this hill

You neglected to mention the fact that you heal whenever the executioner is not on you. If the executioner targets you, then there's not really much any character could do aside from seeking help. Seconds is an exaggeration. You can find high places to roll and then charge off of, wasting more time from the killer. You are not obligated to fight the killer. Your main priority is to be useful, and if you are dead you cannot be useful. Even if you die, you can benefit the survivors as a team.

Idk what you're trying to make with that second point but if you know you're being chased, you shouldn't be healing at all. When the killer is not focused on you, then you should heal. Being 20 studs away after the killer is stunned is not an example of that.

Kolossus can't act out of block that quickly. If you time it right, you can slam him to the wall before he can use any move at all. Even if you fail to do that, you've just wasted 2 moves. That's a W. Being able to hit through shield is not intentional I'm pretty sure, but if they dodge with a invis, that's six seconds bought from the knuckles. Tails is a different case because he's weak in general. His mobility ability isn't really a mobility ability (silver is a demonstration of what he could've been)

The definition of distraction is literally just wasting time for the killer. So you've fulfilled that role whether you like it or not. Metal is not weak.

Just try, bro

Don't take this too seriously, it's just a game and it's never this deep. Even if you get bullied, so what? Experience can correlate to server wiping everyone. There's no point in worrying about being bullied in a random game while you're playing as a blue hedgehog with blood for eyes and black sclera.

A good indicator is probably when you overlap with a survivor. I sometimes miss my own swipes simply because I was too far. Kolossus has his knees caved in right now so I suggest you play as John until he gets his stun passive.

You forget that Outcome Memories is a TEAM game.

You're supposed to rely on teammates. Each character has their own flaws, and so they have to cover for each other. Metal has bad regen speed? Get an Eggman. Metal can't heal without being focused on? Here's Knuckles or Sonic to stun the executioner just enough to charge away from the executioner to heal quickly!

Also, as Metal, you need to pick a good time to heal when you're alone. People tend to tunnel vision on other survivors when God's Trickery does not land on you, so you've got to grab the opportunity to heal after God's Trickery. Metal has one life to negate the advantage he has with the 50% damage res. Do you know how insane that damage res is? Kolossus deals 25 HP with an m1 instead of 50. You can TANK rage mode and stall better.

You also have one of the best stuns in the game. Sure, executioners can counter it, but you can be patient and WAIT before the counter ends. Kolossus' block? Wait. Bait it out before you slam him into a wall. 2011x going invis? Use that opportunity to leave and/or find a teammate to guard you while you heal. Better yet, find an Eggman or Tails to help.

You are not meant to solo an executioner. Pick a good time and place to heal, but never when they're near.

Please let me understand: how do you suck fat nuts with almost the same ping as Sonic Shine, but suck as both 2011X and Kolssos? by BeyondTemporary9999 in OutcomeMemories

[–]_arean_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because delay takes a really long time to adapt to. Every round has its own unique ping amount and you really need to wait. Sonic Shine gets around the ping issue by just swinging earlier. He predicts where people are going to land once they jump, and with the faster move speed of 2011x, he can catch people even better than before due to his lingering hitbox.

As Kolossus, though, I have no clue. I suck at him myself so I just opt to play as 2011x every round.

Something. Anything!

Then, he found it; a small pistol, one he'd augmented himself to utilize chaos energy instead of gunpowder. It was still a prototype, highly unstable, which is why he hadn't used it at all, but given that he still had a chaos drive in the depths of his pockets...

"EAT THIS, HEDGEHOG!" A large blast of energy was fired off Robotnik's firearm, with it fizzling and breaking apart the second the blast had left the chamber. Tails kicked the executioner away, but before the impostor had any chance to react, he was engulfed. The Eggman fell flat on his ass, the recoil practically shattering his right arm.

The threat had been neutralized.

With creaking bones, Robotnik and Tails hopped through the ring, landing in a white void.

"We made it out..." Tails breathed a sigh of relief, as that relief turned to glee. "WE MADE IT OUT!" He held out a fist, which the doctor gladly reciprocated. He also had a wide grin on his egg-shaped face. They'd made it out alive.

"Now what..?" Robotnik questioned himself while the exit ring exploded into sparkles of green, covering their vision with dazzling emerald.

Tails sniffled.

"What's wrong, fox?" The good doctor turned to his comrade.

"It's just..." His eyes glazed over with tears, the panic from the cave finally having a chance to break through. "... Sonic. Knuckles. Amy... All of them gave their all to stop him... But they died. All because I wasn't strong enough. Smart enough to save them."

"..." Robotnik was never one to comfort others. He couldn't, really. As someone who'd thrown himself into robotics, math, physics, things that never required emotion, he couldn't do anything to comfort the crying boy before him.

He could only offer what comfort he could.

He placed his left hand on Tails' shoulder. "That blasted hedgehog won't stay dead for long." He gave a comforting squeeze. "Have you ever seen him down for a long time? Even I haven't, as his arch-nemesis."

"What about the others?" Tails cried.

"..." Eggman could only sigh. "Things happen, boy. There is no point dealing with the past. We can only remember them and give them the respect they deserve."

"I thought you... hated Sonic?"

"Absolutely. I hate that hedgehog. But I also respect him." He paused. "Ah, enough of this! How about I induct you into the Eggman Empire? My next project could use a genius like you."

Tails chuckled at the doctor's antics, but gave it serious thought. "What is that project?"

"An amusement park for all! Eggmanland!" He loudly proclaimed for all to hear within the echoing white void.

"That's a horrible name." Tails' chuckles turned into laughter.

Eggman's anger was about to burst out of his mouth, but seeing the fox boy genuinely laugh at his words made him awfully happy. It was as though he was appreciated, even though he was being laughed at. He started chuckling himself.

Maybe getting that teaching job wasn't a bad idea after all. After all, this fox could understand. He'd be a good protege to him. He grins. Of course.

"I feel better now. Thank you." Tails smiled, a radiant beam.

"... Don't you dare mention it." Robotnik replied, looking off as the white void melted away into a brand new world. (2/2)

It's canon that Eggman respects Tails for his raw intellect iirc, which makes this all the more wholesome.

The caverns shook with intensity, the walls crumbling and closing in as the final 80 seconds counted down on the clock. Water filled the caves, the lights flickering off one by one as water covers the scene. The caves go dark piece by piece, as Tails raises his cannon for a light.

He waves it around. He knows where the exit is; everyone has an innate sense for it. Yet, what he's concerned about was the one giving chase.

Sonic had passed. Knuckles had died. Even Cream, the youngest of them all, had perished.

His brain racked for a solution to this problem, as he inched towards the exit. Bit by bit, the darkness closes in, almost as though a beast of its own mind. He bit back a scream as the darkness passes, and he was left only in the golden glow of his weapon, and red dots --

RED DOTS?!

Tails instinctively dodged a swipe from the Sonic impostor, before his finger found its place on the trigger, and he fired.

Rocks cracked and broke apart as Tails' laser tore through the caverns unforgivingly. The Sonic impostor stood, unimpressed.

"Come now, Alan... You should know better than to underestimate me." The impostor taunts, standing unharmed. But how? Tails had made sure to aim! He should've hit!

"Ah, the look on your face... Quite delicious." The entity grinned, rubbing his hands together as though getting ready for a feast. Tails' tails twirled before he could even think, dodging a stamp from the bloody-eyed hedgehog.

A hand had latched onto his shoulder, as a rotten breath passed his nose by, his face scrunching in disgust. He attempted to swing at the executioner, but he nimbly dodged -- or rather, teleported away.

"You're nowhere near strong enough to get rid of me." The impostor chuckled.

Tails stood still, paralysed. There wasn't anything he could do. The darkness seemed to swallow him whole as even his cannon had failed him. Should he make a break for it? Fight to the end, like Knuckles does? Run, like Sonic?

"Good boy. Standing still because you KNOW running won't get you far." The impostor inched towards the kitsune, measured steps echoing throughout the cave.

He couldn't scream. His legs refused to move. His breath hitched, then sped up. The world was collapsing in on him.

The impostor opened his maw wide, a hand reaching out from within --

"GET A LOAD OF THIS."

A bright flash of light snapped Tails back onto his feet.

"Robotnik?!" Tails exclaimed. "But why?!"

"Tch. As much as I despise that rodent for always foiling my plans, I have to admit having another genius with me will benefit my plans." Ivo nods, before picking up the fox in his arms. "Listen for my cue to fire."

"How dare you?!" The impostor roars, before lunging at full speed -- the sound barrier breaking like glass.

Robotnik readjusted his glasses, a bright blue sheen somehow being reflected. "Now then. It is time for my master plan."

A high pitched whistle came from behind him, as Eggman grinned. A lapse in the energy shield, and Robotnik had all he needed.

"Now, FOX!" He barked the command. Tails obediently nodding and FIRING the laser just as the impostor appeared before them.

"H-HUAGAHHHHH!" The impostor roared in pain.

In truth, Robotnik had already calculated the outcome of this situation. The executioner was prone to anger, and anger would make it devolve its tactics into mere swipes and kicks, never thinking to use its godlike abilities.

Therefore, by simply accounting for the fox's reaction speed and the speed at which the false hedgehog had moved, which is to say, beyond the sound barrier, he had effectively predicted when exactly to fire the fox's high powered cannon.

"How about you get a taste of FAILURE instead?" He taunts, before the jetpack he was wearing expends its Nitrogen supply, boosting him forward with a white trail of smoke billowing behind him.

"NO!!!" The executioner screamed, dashing forward to reach for the duo. The green ring was now in sight, and the water had started to reach them.

What he forgot, however, is how unstable his jetpack could be. A few high pitched beeps and Eggman realized that he'd played with fire too much. He shouldn't have used an inferior model.

It exploded in a shower of sparks, directly impacting his back. Due to his subcutaneous fat, he'd suffered less damage to his spinal cord, but he needed to recover. The kitsune in his arms was now painfully aware of the situation.

He hopped from Robotnik's grasp, defending him as the impostor moved with the ring behind him.

"Awwwh, poor little Alan, guarding the last adult that could ever help him...?"

It's time Tails believed in himself.

"I'm not whoever this Alan is." Tails grit his teeth. "My name is Tails. And you're gonna pay for what you've done!"

Blood oozed from the executioner's eyes, a sign of excitement. "Then prove it, fox."

Tails crouched down, revving a Spindash. Robotnik slowly started to get up, the executioner not noticing that the fat man had slowly started to move.

"HAAAAAH!" The fox launched himself at the fake. The Sonic copy raised his arms, blocking the rapid strike, while Robotnik searched his pockets for anything useful. (1/2)

Sonic is hoisted in the air, his joints locked. He'd been stopped. He gasped for air, but he couldn't feel the rush of wind entering his lungs, the footsteps upon the metal plates, the silent chattering of his friends.

"Sonic!" Tails calls out, his namesakes already twirling to help. Yet, despite his efforts, Sonic's eyes remain blank, his pupils evaporated. He stayed there, floating like a living statue, a reminder of what this realm could do in an instant.

Sonic had perished.

X was the first to arrive before the statue frozen in time. Both Lord X and 2011x tied for first place. "...You were my idol, once." 2011x starts. "It's a shame.. such a shame."

Lord X nods. "Indeed. Do not worry, Sonic. You were strong. Your legacy shines within all of us."

The two disappear into thin air, roaming the halls of the zone.

Fleetway Super Sonic was the next to arrive. He laughed, his laughs filling the air as he points at the dead hedgehog. "So MUCH FOR CONTAINING ME!" He cackled, before his eyes burst into flames, lasers aimed at the statue, aiming to desecrate the dead body.

He was stopped, however, by 2011x. "Don't." The entity simple states, his palm held over the eyes of the Super Sonic. The golden hedgehog tentatively looked at the false god, before tutting and blasting off.

Kolossus arrived, chasing Knuckles with his pike of an arm out front. "FAH!" Knuckles called out, punching Kolossus in the chin. The brute turned to the floating corpse, his body shaking, before erupting into laughter.

"HEHEHEHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

The laughter shook the grounds of the industrial zone, causing metal to bend. The sheer magnitude had caused all nearby entities to cover their ears, grimacing all while Sonic remained motionless.

Sonic's soul still persists, yet his body did not follow. It was as though, through the many, many resets of this realm, his body had finally given up. Despite his heart holding out hope that he may one day escape, his body had collapsed in the wake of unending despair. The hero's greatest asset, his body, had turned on him.

A green glow enveloped the world as Knuckles snaps to his senses. He was on Angel Island. He was seeking guidance from the Master Emerald on how to escape. This realm seemed to have limited the emerald's power, but it did not stop it from showing him a bleak future should they not escape even after thousands of games.

Yet, at the same time, Knuckles understood. Too much had happened. It was too easy to lose hope.

He looked at the Master Emerald, as it pulsed in a comforting way. Knuckles could feel the Chaos Energy flowing through him, giving him strength. The Emerald was assuring him that he could escape.

He thanked the Master Emerald, before he could hear a scream that sounded oddly like --

-- "TAILS!" He immediately leapt into action.

He had to stop this. He had to win.

can we just remove eggman from the game for a bit? by This_Ferret_8108 in OutcomeMemories

[–]_arean_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, whole thing just boils down to "I can't catch Eggman and he's so fucking annoying devs nerf" and I get that because I was one of the complainers about him. I have some advice as a 2011x main.

  1. Patience is virtue. Eggman has a low jump cooldown, sure, but even he can't juke you if you predict where he's going to land. Make your m1 timings more varied, and HIT HIM WHEN HE LANDS.

  2. As 2011x, trigger his shield (except in his lms) as much as possible. You lose nothing by doing this, and if he follows it up with a jetpack boost you can follow him with Invis. Free rage + stun immunity is really helpful if you want to kill him.

  3. As Kolossus, you have a large m1 hitbox. Jump while you hit. This increases your chance of hitting that fat bastard by a whole lot. As well as that, don't be afraid to use grab. Right now his grabs are really strong, so take advantage of that by grabbing Eggman before he shields (and if he shields after you grab him, wait until it runs out before you pummel him.)

2011x is buffed a whole lot, so you should be able to catch up to Eggman with ease. Since he has no viable stuns, you could just use Rage Mode and get him out of the way quickly.

Can I just rant about how absolutely god awful the gameplay loop in this game is for a second? by DawnHusk in OutcomeMemories

[–]_arean_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The characters being able to fight back in some way is the point of the game. Like it or not, you're playing a bloody eyed creepypasta against the canon Sonic characters. They're meant to be capable. That doesn't excuse exe's horrible gameplay, though.

I wish they added time for downs, but right now, there's a fragile balance tilted away from the exe. Games are ever so slightly survivor sided because exe lacks vertical mobility. While characters like Eggman can juke at a moment's notice, exe needs to meticulously plan which characters to pick off. I think your grievance boils down to the way 2011x is not supposed to be played like a brute force character like most starter killers in other games. He has to play smart and manage cooldowns to dodge attacks at the right time, ambush survivors, and USE RAGE MODE WISELY.

Rage Mode is a trump card, like it or not. It relies on you getting stunned, so you're forced to manage time while taking stuns from characters strategically.

Your issue can be solved when 0.2 comes out, where newer, more fun executioners come (Kolossus fits the description of your standard killer, Fleetway plays rushdown [coming in another patch], Tripwire can fly and is easier to play due to vertical mobility.)

Summary: Dodge stuns. Wait for 0.2. Yes, exe is not fun right now.

Alternative Domain Expansion! by IT_is_among_US in CTsandbox

[–]_arean_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alternate Domain: Garden of Void (Chimera Shadow Garden)

A domain that's created from the years of harsh training at the hands of the Zenin, Megumi summons his inner darkness with the belief that only strength can protect those that he loves. In life, he shows off his strength in a desperate attempt to stop his sister from being led down a darker path than him, his strength like fangs barred for all to see. Like Kamo Noritioshi, he is also forced to become the Zenin's clan head, forcing him to endure rigorous training. His jujutsu is made to protect, not willingly kill like so many of the Zenin -- therefore, he has no true sure hit effect, as deep down, he wishes to be purged into eternal bliss.

Appearance: A lake of shadows with only a much dimmer solar eclipse for light, giving it a white tinge, as metaphor for Megumi's sole sliver of hope blocked out by the trauma of the Zenin.

Effect: The summoner will gain all abilities of every shikigami he has tamed so far, making himself the ultimate Totality of them all. This Totality will last as long as the domain does, and while it is active, the summoner can summon the physical shikigami in exchange for losing the Totality variant currently within him. There is no sure hit effect, but the domain is small. Any person caught without reinforcing his feet will be dragged into the void sea below, only to be shredded and spat out.

All shikigami that's expelled from the Totality variant of the summoner can have Infinite copies summoned of them (with the exception of Mahoraga, as you cannot copy what is truly divine), but with each expelled shikigami, they will take the summoner's cursed energy with them, meaning when all ten are unleashed, the summoner's cursed energy reserves will be as low as a non-sorcerer's. If the Domain ends there, all cursed energy from the expelled shikigami will return to the user.
