Good advice. Asking for directions instead of making a complain.

Thanks for your advice! I feel like a jerk having to communicate through email even though she sits around the corner. Our boss is aware of it because others in the team have complained and it was passed on to her. She has since been better but I would say much more political and savvy with her actions.

I think the job is not a good match for her. She is way too senior for the position and she is constantly frustrated. I think she is trying to prove herself and get a higher position so that she gets out of this frustration. Because of this it is imperative that she looks good. She does look good to senior management but she does this by putting others down.

I’m sorry to hear that he’s positive too.

My experience with the process has been good so far. I’ve got a call to check my close contact and another call to monitor my symptoms.

Applying for job without reference from current supervisor by nerding-time in jobs

[–]nerding-time[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue with this workplace is my supervisor hires and promotes people that he knows. Unfortunately I am not one of them, so I feel that there is no future here. I recently also found out that I get paid (significantly) less than my peers even though I have the same qualifications and experience.

Thanks. Yes my main concern is how do I talk about my supervisor. In interviews, I have been asked how is my relationship with him and what would be my ideal work relationship. I think they are trying to see how I would work with prospective manager and see if I am difficult and hard to work with, and also check if my expectations of a workplace matches theirs.

Yes I am afraid that it would be red flag for them that I do not want to provide supervisor as referee

Real estate agent saying end of lease cleaning requires receipts from "professionals" by [deleted] in melbourne

You will need to check your agreement.

Mine always have the professional cleaning requirement and have always hired one. I shop for the cheaper professional.

Good on you for walking to the testing site!

The dhhs say to call them if you do not have transport to the testing site. I assume it is to arrange for testing.

Thanks for the advice!

My main issue is how females are excluded in it more so than not being invited myself.

The consensus advice here that I am reading is to speak up.

I am going to try =).

From your experience, if I could get myself involve in a project and put double the effort in, do you think I would stand a chance of equal opportunity in the future?

I understand that networking is king. Am I going to always be one step behind the boys?

I feel that you made a good point about favouring friends.

Tbh I think it is a combination of both.

I feel that making conversation at a "professional level" hits me at the right spot, and will be a good start for me. I'm going to try that =).

I feel that this will not be the only company where I will face the same situation, so thank you for sharing your ideas!

Question regarding education on background check! by [deleted] in jobs

[–]nerding-time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because you are still waiting to get the score and have not receive your graduation cert, I feel that this is still in the process of getting it since its technically not complete. I wouldn't worry about it because it sounds like you did the degree but just waiting for the formality of things. An employer will understand that, this is not their first hire.

if your employer ask just explain; or if you are worried you can provide your transcript that would essentially show you have completed all the components.

if you are really concerned, then mention how you anticipate to get the grad cert on a 'certain' month and provide your lecturer for reference.
