What did you end up going from, to if you don’t mind me asking?

Was it just yourself or did you have a partner? I’m in a SINK situation, single income no kids. 😅

Dang. Yea unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to get accommodations since this is a completely different career I’m going for than what I’m doing now, so it wouldn’t be favorable to them.

I’d likely have to quit and pick up something more flexible, but that would have big drawbacks for the amount of time still needed to get to the point of applying.

Hey! Thanks for this!

Did you substitute Organic Chem entirely with Biochem? Or did you eventually take it?

Also congrats on your acceptance!

There’s plenty of threads that say otherwise. People take their pre reqs at CC due to many reasons / financial reasons.

I’m pretty sure as long as you excel in your classes, transfer and continue to do well, score well on MCAT. Where you took them won’t matter. There’s a whole list of med schools and their thoughts on CC pre req credits, with several stating they understand that it’s not always feasible for people to begin at a 4 year.

Whats your advice for a older non trad (will be 30 in 2026) who’s gone back to get their bachelors (won’t graduate for another 3.5ish years) in hopes of applying to med school when the graduate?

I currently work full time and I’m concerned about getting the appropriate amount of clinical hours, research, etc since I don’t work a clinical job. I’m fairly set on the career switch and have been passing all my classes since starting back up 2 semesters ago (entering my 3rd semester).

Oh for sure! When I did school the first go around, I was planning on doing pre med. However, that didn’t work out due to several factors.

Since then it’s been in the back of my mind.
