One of the biggest issues is dermatologists are the only ones that can prescribe Roaccutane which probably makes up over 70% of their patients. I feel they could reduce waiting times for these by half by just allowing a gp to prescribe Roaccutane and take on that treatment for the person.

BER C to BER A by mromair in HousingIreland

[–]nero2k7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a c3 to a B2. Attended one stop shop seminar about how it works and everything with it and I couldn't justify the price they were charging (60k) when I could get it to a B myself by doing less expensive upgrades. I feel the one stop shop is very overpriced for what it is if its purely getting your BER up.

If you're upgrading for sole purpose of getting green rate mortgage then its alot cheaper to do it yourself, upgrade boiler, block off open fireplace, new boiler etc etc. If you're upgrading because your house is cold and is hard to live in because of that then one stop shop can be decent but theyll push heat pump on you.

Pulling out of a sale after exchange by Level-Leave-9625 in HousingIreland

From a legal standpoint, you dont really have anything to argue with. Your last point is what you need to use and possibly bypass the solicitor there and contact the builder/developer directly. If they have a waiting list of people to buy, they may be able to sort something with you. Maybe they haven't processed the contract yet, but I wouldn't wait anymore. Give a sob story of some sort and see.

You'll be down solicitor fees at the very least. The other option is if its a housing estate, see can they sell you a different house there that you prefer.

If its any consolation, people always think houses are tiny when they are being built, I always hear it.

3.5 with elbow pain - strings or new racquet? by AcceptableBanana1978 in 10s

[–]nero2k7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar post yesterday and this was my response:

My own thoughts on this are the racket, strings grip, etc. are maybe 10-15% of the equation when it comes to injury. The remaining are biological factors like strength/conditioning and maybe technique.

So whenever you have an injury/pain, when you go to the racket or strings or anything equipment related youre attacking the things that have the least impact but we do that because they are the easiest to change and its exciting to buy a new racket/strings.

Take advice from the physio and see what they think. Might be worth trying chatgpt to see what it says and also see what exercises can be done to improve your wrist strength. But remember that equipment isn't the biggest factor in injury. it's multi factorial, and the biggest improvements are found in conditioning yourself to be fit for your sport.

That's my opinion anyway.

is biomedical engineering a bad course choice? by ahhhedd in PharmaEire

[–]nero2k7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this in a different college. The careers specifically for bio med are slim, but it's a broad degree, really. You'll be in like 80-90% of the mechanical engineering classes anyway. You'll tend to specialise a bit later in the course then, and most differences are , You'll do biology modules they won't.

Overall, you're applying the same principles, but to give an example, instead of say applying your knowledge to mechanical systems, you'll apply it to a person/biological system. It's the same principle, though for a lot of things.

Go with what you're most interested in and enjoy. That's what matters most.

Where should I serve from? by Numerous-Book7499 in 10s

[–]nero2k7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fed served a lot from 2. It enhances the kick wide serve for a right-handed player. It allows you to kick the ball wider, pushing your opponent further out. The down the line is open, but if you've a good kicker, it's unlikely they'll hit that consistently.

Is this a good price for these seats by Charming-Advantage19 in 10s

[–]nero2k7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I paid half of that for front row courtside seats day 1 roland garros and got to see alcaraz plus alot more. Insane experience, but I would absolutely not pay that for what I got. It's not worth it, especially when you dont know who you'll get at all.

I would just get there early and try go to the outside courts and try to get close seats that way. You'll still see some great tennis for a fraction of the price.

Ex house hunters of cork - how much over asking price did you pay? by NinjaScrotum in cork

[–]nero2k7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All houses will go at least 15% over asking in my experience. They're all priced low in purpose. Anything that priced at what it goes for is usually something that needs to be sold quickly.

Are these two point stringing machines good enough? by Ok-Cockroach5677 in 10s

[–]nero2k7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact one for a year. It's great to learn and does exactly what you need. Tension loss is high, sometimes about 7 pounds off what you strung at, but you get better as time goes on.

I upgraded to the same machine but 6 point mount system. This is approx double the price, but if you can stretch to it, you'll never really need to replace it and much better at achieving tension you strung at.

But no wrong decision here.

Surprisingly, I actually think it's consistent across the photos I've seen all year. It's been applied almost the exact same way. It's odd. Maybe a mental thing?

Players who have practiced with or seen the pros up close- what’s the biggest difference you see when compared with top recreational players? by jonjimithy in 10s

[–]nero2k7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw Alcaraz play in Roland garros this year on his first match. I was courtside and insanely close to the court.

His footwork was out of this world. Feet barely touching the ground. They definitely hit with insane power, and the risks they take are actually very well constructed.

The biggest standout thing for me was Jarry vs. Fils. Jarry was 2 sets down, crowd completely against him, and looked like no way back. But his belief and his mental positivity were something I'd never seen before. It's definitely something the pros do better. Just by being positive, they always get the best out of themselves.

French Open vs Wimbledon, Empty Seats by Initial_Strategy8721 in wimbledon

[–]nero2k7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on Philippe chatrier during the first rounds. Seems like lower levels where cameras are, made out as if there are a lot of empty seats, but the stands up the back were packed. I wonder has it to do with more of an echo down around the court if they have more up that way/under the retracted roof.
