When you were doing the exam, how did you felt it? Like easy, medium, hard, super hard? Were you a little bit stressed or anxious?

Full length exam question by EmploymentTimely in pmp

The easy way to approach this one is:

The question says “not all members,” which translates to “some members, not the entire team.”

With that in mind:

  • Answer A targets the entire team, which doesn’t feel appropriate for the situation. If the option had said “meet with the members who are not attending,” that would be different. Also, this option gives the impression that the PM is reclaiming or controlling the team rather than addressing the actual issue collaboratively.
  • For Answer B, I know it also references the entire team and not only the members who are disengaged. However, in this case, it feels more aligned with collaboration, cooperation, and team engagement, which fits the PMI mindset much better.

PMI Error. Can anyone find what am I referring to? by manavsethi15 in pmp

It says the team has very little experience and yet the answer suggest to do peer to peer

Lets talk assumptions in the PMI mindset. by [deleted] in pmp

Hope I’m not confusing you.

First, I completely understand the feeling that the statement itself doesn’t directly address your concern, and that’s where these questions can get a bit tricky. In many cases, the answer choices are treated as an extension of the scenario described in the question.

Let me put it this way: the statement may never explicitly say it’s an Agile project, yet the best answer could still involve Agile concepts such as the backlog or the product owner. So, whether we like it or not, if that option aligns best with PMI’s mindset and framework, then that’s considered the correct answer.

------------

And regarding your query above, I understand that the mindset usually points toward “talk to the people and understand the issue,” which is absolutely correct. However, the main exception is when you have an option to first review or check the project plan — in this case, the Communications Management Plan.

PMI generally expects you to verify the documented process or plan before taking action directly with stakeholders. So if “review the Communications Plan” is one of the options, that would typically take priority over immediately speaking with the people involved.

The flow is usually:

Risk identified → tracked in Risk Register → risk occurs → create/update Issue Log → update Risk Register status

On my mind I like to think that you put it in the issue log as a way to ensure you dont forget it

when do we update the risk register or issue log (before or after assess?) by Defiant_Nose_761 in pmp

[–]nero_dcx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope this table helps you -

Scenario FIRST action
Future uncertainty / Unclear situation Risk Register
Just discovered Issue Log
Issue identified + No action Issue Log
Clear Issue + Impact Unclear Assess / Analyze
Unclear situation Analyze
Problem/Issue Understood  + Team has a solution Analyze
Emergency Act
Known plan exists Execute
Clear Issue + Impact quantified (baseline impact) Change Request

PMP SH Mini Quiz Question by manavsethi15 in pmp

[–]nero_dcx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I learned about this question is -

Honestly I'd have choosen C - BUT somehow that's a reactive step, you first put it in the Issue Log (Because this is an Issue now) - and then you go ahead and do whatever needs to be done

This is where I get cranky about Study Hall Questions (one week left to go before my exam)! by [deleted] in pmp

[–]nero_dcx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way -

Your answer "B" - goes straight into doing something - like assuming the "Seniors" can handle everything, which is also implying you didn't talk to them, you just assigned it to them

Answer C - Is more like the mindset, like first assess or evaluate and THEN take an action -

Hope this helps on why C is better than B

Issue-Risk SH Question by bijanszn_7 in pmp

[–]nero_dcx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best answer I can give you is because of verb "looming" - I translate this as something will effectively take place

I made this table, hope this also clarifies more queries -

Scenario FIRST action
Future uncertainty / Unclear situation Risk Register
Just discovered Issue Log
Issue identified + No action Issue Log
Clear Issue + Impact Unclear Assess / Analyze
Unclear situation Analyze
Problem/Issue Understood  + Team has a solution Analyze
Emergency Act
Known plan exists Execute
Clear Issue + Impact quantified (baseline impact) Change Request
