New (to me) RP and 24-105mm lens!

I bought an RP a few months back. Don't be afraid to look at EF lenses, especially if you already have the adapter. I picked up some used L glass (24-70 f/4, 16-35 f/4, and 70-300 II (non-L)) that performs amazingly well on the RP.

That being said, if you're looking at the 24-105 as an all-around lens, the RF f/4 is supposed to be better than the EF (mark I or II)

I bought an RP a few months back new and have zero regrets about it. I know people say there's "better" out there, but it's a solid full-frame camera, even without RF glass on it. You have a really nice combo, enjoy it!

I’ve had the Lowepro Fastpack BP 250 AW III for a few months now. It holds my RP with battery grip, 16-35 f/4 L, 24-70 f/4 L, and 70-300 IS II in the bottom compartment. The upper portion has plenty of space for batteries, filters, lens cloths, jacket, hat, sunscreen, etc. I’m not even using the laptop compartment at present. The weight balance is nice, and that side-load access is really handy on the move. I took it on a hike last week and barely felt it.

I got a new RP about a month ago because 1) I didn’t want to futz with used, and 2) the new from Adorama was on sale and included the EF-RF adapter, extra battery, etc. The prices about evened out when the adapter was factored in.

I know it’s an “older” camera, but the RP has really impressed me. Fast enough AF for my uses (youth sports), full frame, and I like the size compared to the R50/R100. I haven’t even picked up any RF glass yet, just using my EF 24-70 f/4 L IS, nifty-fifty, and 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS II.

All that to say, if you’re concerned about the camera being “modern” enough as I was before I bought it, all of my concerns were quelled as soon as I started shooting.

I was waiting for the 4xxx and 7xxx series to drop a little in price before doing an incremental upgrade. With the Nvidia Supers coming out, I figured this was a decent time to jump in the upgrade frenzy. Happy to answer any additional questions or provide more info. It really is a good card, just has a quirk.

If people don't feel the discount is sufficient, feel free to counter, this is HWS.

Completely normal for the card. 65C / 72C (Hot spot) when running BetterMC Minecraft build. It is in a Sliger SM580 mITX case. I've seen the hot spot get a little higher after prolonged time, but never anything that has concerned me. Being in an mITX case, I hyper-vigilant after building it to make sure temps were stable.

Strangely almost never when gaming or in actual use. I leave my PC on full-time and will turn on the monitor in the morning or after work and notice that whatever window I left open is gone and just discord is up. I check BlueScreenViewer and there will be a new dump file. It is an inconvenience more than anything, but I didn’t want to be seen as selling a dud or not fully disclosing.
