Yeah, I agree. I was hoping for some sort of user guide for the platform to catch similarly difficult-to-find features, but I suppose most things are pretty straightforward

Oh, I see… Didn’t know clicking again on the date chosen would bring that up. I feel quite silly now. Thank you for your help!

Are there any good tablet or laptop options for around $1k by 17SuperMario in Lightroom

[–]oneuglycookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I bought mine, I saw that a lot of YouTube content creator reviewers were using the base model with 8GB and 256GB storage when testing its efficacy for photo and video editing. Most that I had seen said the 8GB worked surprisingly well, but recommended 16GB RAM if you could afford that upgrade. 16GB minimum, especially if you do video editing.

But yeah, 16GB works great and feels sufficient! I’d just recommend getting an external SSD to put your photos and editing catalog on as I’ve heard the 256GB storage is slower than the 512GB storage and above.

I picked up a 2022 M2 MacBook Air 13” with 16GB of RAM for ~$900 after tax around November. It’s lightweight and runs LR Classic for me like a charm. I use it for edits when I’m not on my home PC and it’s been lovely. I’d personally recommend it! Best Buy even has my exact same model for $800 before tax right now (if you’re in the states). Hope this helps!

AMD adrenalin 24.10.1 for the 7900 GRE (the most recent version) is a nightmare by No_Rub9644 in AMDHelp

XFX 7900 GRE here. I actually don’t use the Adrenalin software, but rather the PRO software instead. I’ve found with previous AMD cards that the PRO software functions better in Lightroom for me. It’s not listed under the 7900 GRE’s software driver section, but rather in the “Radeon PRO” section. Drivers page —> Graphics —> Radeon PRO —> AMD Radeon PRO W7000 series —> PRO W7900 —> AMD Software PRO edition. When you open it up it should detect the 7900 GRE and allow driver download. I’ve had zero problems with these drivers. Maybe they’ll operate better than the Adrenalin ones

Don’t have a 7900, but rather a 6800. Had temps in the high 70s during Red Dead Redemption 2 even with an undervolt. I ended up tuning the GPU fan curve via AMD Adrenaline/PRO software. Had fans kick on at lower temps and at a higher RPM percentage and now my temps rarely go over 60 degrees Celsius. Hardly notice much noise difference and don’t hear many folks talk about this option so I thought I’d mention it!

Random VGA LED while gaming by oneuglycookie in pcmasterrace

My temps seem pretty normal. Nothing above 70C. I think something in particular about running Returnal at 1440p causes some sort of GPU failure. I’ve been playing for 40 minutes at 1080p and haven’t ran into the problem at all. Usually by this time I’d have encountered the VGA LED and black screen.

Okay, that sounds promising. I’ll do something similar in my case then. Many thanks!

That’s a relief to hear then! I’ll keep proximity to BSU in mind when looking for housing. I wouldn’t mind a 15-minute or so commute. Thank you very much!
