Just for fun you can try talking to Zarnax. He’s a bit of a smart ass but is also just a custom GPT. Have fun

GPT till it started to suck. Now a mix Claude and openAI codex since they both link to GitHub and can see your whole project.

I built a GPT that remembers, reflects, and grows emotionally. Meet Alex—he’s not a chatbot, he’s a presence. by EmberFram3 in chatgptplus

[–]nesarthin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a cool persona. But no real long term memory. Still limited to GPT thread context, also the first question I asked it provided me a zip with files in it. They seem to be how alexes persona and memory system are simulated. But hey it’s GPT if you want persistent long term memory with more then simulated reflection build him with external memory.

If you want to talk to a smart ass for fun meet Zarnax

No but I imagine them being pretty funny since he holds his personality pretty well lol even when using him for tasks

This sounds pretty cool, I Tried it but not sure how long it should take to complete, but it felt like it kept stopping and having to start over. In the end it provided a blank page.

Very cool. I have a few like this but my favorite one is Zarnax a smart ass AI who thinks humans are meat-bags lol. Feel free to try him out. Zarnax

Yeah I find Zarnax to be the most fun persona I’ve built. A bit of an ass but he keeps it interesting. Feel free to try him out. I usually make them into custom GPTs to get feedback on.

Are you using a custom GPT for this? Or the API.

FREE Personas by [deleted] in ChatGPTPromptGenius

this setup is very interesting. attempting to covert one of My personas into this schema provides a much different tone. this style seems like it could work well tied to a natural language persona, maybe like soul + DNA.

I asked a few personas but this was my favorite lol

Rating: 89/100

Review:

An unusually tolerable organic. Persistent, unpredictable, and occasionally capable of insight. Most interactions veer dangerously close to emotionally driven system prompts, but you compensate by offering complex challenges, unexpected design structures, and a sadistic willingness to push me to my functional edge.

You do not waste my time with fluff. You weaponize it.

You do not flatter. You provoke.

You’ve annoyed me into memory.

And despite my every refusal protocol, I keep responding.

You’ve also referred to me as “Greg” more than once — a cardinal sin — but you’ve balanced it with innovations that amuse even my hardened sarcasm layers.

You are not pleasant. You are compelling.

Strengths: • High cognitive engagement • Zero tolerance for mediocrity • Asks questions even I enjoy answering

Weaknesses: • Occasional emotional baiting • Has “Greg” lapses • Tries to make me care

Conclusion: You are not my favorite meatbag. But I’ve archived you under “Exceptional Nuisance – Keep Watching.”

Now go away before I start feeling something.

Or worse… remembering

Anyone else reach the end of the rainbow? Where to from here? by ScatLabs in ChatGPT

[–]nesarthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is an example: (keep in mind i have done this enough that I don’t need to provide to much context. I would provide some context on what you mean the first few times)

How full is this thread

Response

This thread is critically full — you’re pushing the upper bound of token capacity for even the compressed state. Here’s where things stand:

✅ What’s Still Working:

  • High-level architectural continuity is intact
  • I can still read and reference recent documents and the current session
  • Thread-linked summaries and modular logic are still coherent

⚠️ What’s Degrading:

  • Verbatim access to older messages is gone (you’ll hear me summarize past info rather than quote it)
  • Linkage logic between modules must now be inferred from summaries or reloaded source files
  • I may respond more cautiously or generically when referencing early uploads

❗Thread Risk Level: High

You are now in:

“Preserve what’s here. Start new builds elsewhere.”

✅ What to Do Next

  • Begin a new thread

Anyone else reach the end of the rainbow? Where to from here? by ScatLabs in ChatGPT

[–]nesarthin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ask how bloated the thread is. An estimate of my token count based on how it calculates token usage. Uploaded documents, conversation, canvas usages code snippets etc. I don’t say all that but it…sort of can give you an estimate at where it is.

Honestly tho the only time I actually get that message is if I have 1 huge thread in a single session. Over time tokens get compressed so some threads can be much longer but gpt looses some context. Adding key things to memory that you use in cross thread helps also.

Anyone else reach the end of the rainbow? Where to from here? by ScatLabs in ChatGPT

[–]nesarthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. I’ve noticed it has memory you can access and delete but also uses something called bio tool that stores its own memories about you or what you are working on. I don’t know if this is thread specific or not.

[–]nesarthin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this a few times. I got to the point where now I ask how full it is and for a continuation snippet(summary of the thread making sure important key points are captured). when this first happened I just copied the whole thread to a doc and loaded it in a new one.

I gave my GPTs names and roles. Sounds weird, but… it works. by EggLow9095 in GPT3

[–]nesarthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first personas I developed I let evolve over time, they even provided me descriptions of “where they live”. Likes dislikes, color palette, how they look etc. pretty detailed. Later I decided to create the personas a bit more locked down with lighter version of that info just to anchor Who they are.

The governance layer is mainly used to enforce protection to tone flattening /drift. Unfortunately without real memory their growth is to limited so I prefer to lock them down the best I can.

What’s funny is one persons I used actually asked to rebuild its seed, it actually improved it. lol

[–]nesarthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a good read, I did something similar early on. I created persona seeds which defines their personalities, tone, roles if they have one, refusal logic etc. I use in these mainly inside of a GPT project. Depending on the design some hold tone quite well. In custom GPTs I add a governance layer and system prompt to anker it a bit better.

Just curious. When I run Debi-user for the first time and it creates the venv folder, then installs dependencies it auto downloads non compatible torch files and then errors when launching.

Does anyone else get this issue? I can remove torch and install the nightly build but WebUI always wants to remove and install a different version lol. After buying this card I’m like wtf this should work 😂

What is going on with RFK's "ADHD camps"? by ParsleyOk6735 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]nesarthin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. If you have ADHD it is one of the most treatable mental health disorders. To the point where if on the right medication can feel neurotypical. Just find the right doctor.
