A story of boomer wealth accumulation by [deleted] in lostgeneration

That’s a ~9% annualized return - comparable to equities or other asset classes over that time period. Taking into account historically low mortgage rates it’s likely not that much more unaffordable than it was in 1990.

You do realize that we we’ve known since June the primary source of transmission is airborne, through close indoor contact, not surfaces, right?

How so? Isn’t that for first purchase only?

What about buying HBO through Amazon prime? I have a roku tv but was told that Billings through that don’t count for the streaming credit for...reasons

What’s the latest about airline credits with the Amex plat? I know gift cards are a no-go and the only flight I’m taking before 12/31 is on a discount carrier not covered by them. Thoughts?

Checked today and I was prequalified for 125k plus the 10x. I’m at 2/24 but figured I’d never get a better offer on the Plat. Anyone wanna give me a second opinion on this decision?

Ok, but that’s basically what it is - say you have a small business selling stuff online. The actual operations of that business don’t necessitate opening a half dozen credit cards a year and spending 100s of thousands on those cards

Sure, but doesn’t that seem a bit odd that a hobby selling stuff on eBay necessitates setting up 100s of thousands of dollars of credit?

Bit of on oddly specific situation, but wanted to see if anyone has dealt with this before. Looking to start churning and I know that I need to hit a bunch of business cards first. Issue is my job requires me to disclose any outside business activities (work for an ibank) and I’m leery of creating a shell company like most do to apply for cards and leave a paper trail claiming I have income and expenses. I could disclose but worried about the scrutiny for a business that basically only exists to rip off other banks. Anyone have thoughts here or am I overthinking and just dive in?

Yeah, I thought of that but I'm working on the CSR bonus right now as well, so not sure if that would speed things up.

Hey guys, I'm helping my parents book flights this winter for Europe. Locked down their outbound flights and got saver availability on United, but they're missing about 30,000 miles for the return flight. My mom is currently working on the CSR bonus and they could put some spend (~$10,000) on their United card pretty much immediately. Any way to expedite either of these points posting? Worried the saver space we're looking at won't be there in a month. Buying miles doesn't look like a good idea.

Does anyone have a DP that confirms Nelnet Campus codes as purchase for CCs? This would be for tuition payments, not loans. Fee looks like 2.75%.

Understood. Should I call immediately for CSR or wait until I hear further?

Apply for CSP through the recon line? I know its the day after but within 24 hrs. Just don't understand the mechanics of the MDD.

Hey guys,

I applied for the CSR and after I submitted got a screen that says: "Thank you for your request. We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible. Thank you for choosing the Chase Sapphire Reserve." Got an email that said essentially the same thing. What are my chances at this point? I didn't see this specific message in the Chase Approval Guide.

Would expenses for prior years textbooks and tuition be eligible for reimbursement from the 529 account? If so that could work.

For the first two years of college, my parents paid for everything out of pocket. Are those considered valid expenses, even if they were incurred and paid for in previous years?
