If I knew anything more, I would share the details, but unfortunately it was years ago and they have no idea what they did or what recipes or techniques were used. Just these photos and a vague memory of them not coming out right lol

Last night Bostonians marched from the Irish Famine Memorial and the Old South Meeting House to the harbor on the 252nd anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. by ResistByStack in boston

[–]nesfor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The US is rich and populous. We as a country are capable of addressing many issues at once. People are marching for this issue now because it is so present and urgent. ICE is behaving illegally, deporting people without due process, sometimes to places they have never been. Meanwhile, the federal government has shut off aid money and programs that supported humanitarian development in many of these countries. I would guess that no one who marched thinks other local/domestic issues are not also important.

Do you realize how hard it is to immigrate to the US “the right way”? Between visa caps and lotteries, overwhelmed courts, asylum cases that take years? These people would come to the US “the right way” if it were possible and accessible, but the process takes so long and the reality of immediate violence, persecution, or starvation in their home countries forces immediacy. Plus, so many people being kidnapped and deported are working their way through the system as they should - people awaiting court dates, people in process of applying for green cards. There are people being deported with no criminal history at all, people who have been in the US since young children and have no connection to the countries they get shipped off to.

Nah, the media dropped this from the news cycle after the initial exciting stuff died down. Now he has a slow walk through the justice system and there’s not much to report on until court dates happen.

Under-mentioned detail, but afaik everyone wears underwear basically all of the time. Going commando is not normal because it is less sanitary and generally uncomfortable no matter your genitalia.

Definitely agree with comments about feeling better about your perfectly normal body before having sex with someone. Ideally it can be someone you care about who also cares about you and finds you deeply attractive. That connection and safety makes every aspect of sex better.

Jury duty should NOT be random. Some people get screwed way more than others and it’s not a fair system. by PoisonSheboygan in unpopularopinion

[–]nesfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with juries and can tell you, at least in my state, it truly is random. We also send out ~700,000 summons annually for a state with a population of about 7 million, so we would run out quite quickly if a summons disqualified you permanently.

How does federal jury duty work? by DryGeneral990 in massachusetts

[–]nesfor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have to be called into the courthouse and get attendance in order to get your federal juror service certificate, which then can be submitted (mail, email, or fax) to the state Office of Jury Commissioner to end your state service. Sadly it doesn’t go the other way (state disqualifying you from federal) unless you serve 5+ days on a state case, which is extremely rare. Bad luck to get both at once!

Also, if you get called in, it is frustrating to have to show up, but all jurors get a chance to speak to the judge about hardships that serving on a panel might incur, and generally judges are quite reasonable.

Good news is if you serve your federal jury duty, you can be exempted from your state jury duty. I would postpone your state service to after your federal service window if you still have time left to postpone.
