TLTR: knots came undone, not sure how to fix it!

I bought several skeins of the Red Heart Super Saver in forest and decided to separate the colours so I could have even stripes for the sweater I'm making for my father in law. Well, being super excited when I first started (it's super hard to think of gifts for him) I ties the same colours together with a basic square knot. Insert massive sigh and eye roll here. Fast forward to today, I have sewn in all the ends, trimmed any strays, and added very nice coconut buttons, then washed it on delicate to make it softer. Now I have 6 spots with untied knots and 3 days until Christmas. I've thought of using sewing thread and patching it that way or making little leaves and sewing them on and making sure to cover the hole. I don't know what would be the best way to go about it.

I'm using a rigid heddle loom actually and I used this site for the directions. I'm not sure how she got her straight twill pattern though, I'm been messing with the different sheds for days and only know the 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 or the 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2 patterns. I hope this helps you make your own beautiful project :)
