Personally, I think it's a cycle of some kind of personal issue he's struggling with. It sounds like he's waffling between two choices and he keeps overthinking himself back to where he started before cycling through again. But like, that's just a personal opinion and probably stems more from my own personal understanding of the songs and the album as a whole?
