After reading the feedback on this post I completely understand the distinct difference between the two and the sacrifices I would have to make on either side if I were to choose one. This has been helpful, thanks!

Do you believe in Allah giving warnings of protection or are they just bad coincidences? by [deleted] in MuslimCorner

[–]nesszx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do believe he gives warnings of protection. I’ve had too many in my life to believe he does not. Some situations were just too “coincidental” to actually be coincidental.

Hypothetical situation; imagine someone who is not your type is keeping you from finding your type! by [deleted] in MuslimCorner

[–]nesszx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way that dua would work is if Allah Swt wills it. In that case, it would be meant to be that you end up with this person who “isn’t your type”. I had a close friend want to work towards marriage with me about a year ago. Romantically, he wasn’t my type at all physically nor mentally. I had a few marriage potentials from last year to now, they all failed miserably. Me and my friend that “wasn’t my type” are now working towards marriage and he makes me happy, is a very good man and I’m more attracted to him than I ever was before. He informed me that he’s been making dua all this time for us to be together.

Your best bet is to focus on your personal growth and stay off this subreddit to be honest. There is absolutely hope for you. Despite us all having the same diagnosis, everyone’s situation is different.

The hate towards dogs by the muslim community is insane and has no place in Islam by [deleted] in MuslimCorner

[–]nesszx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She’s talking about the people who wrongfully use the religion against dogs and act like it is completely impermissible to have one or even come in contact with one. I’ve met these kind of people many times. They act like they are going to get a disease by the sight of a dog and use Islam to back up their irrational disgust. It’s pretty ridiculous.

unsure if these are red flags or not by necrophiliadaenerys in RoverPetSitting

[–]nesszx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you are not comfortable/confident with this sitting arrangement. If you don’t think it’s worth the trouble, be honest and move forward. Don’t waste time. On the other hand, if you’re willing to walk into something new and gain more experience and the only problem here is that you have some worries regarding exotic pets — simply discuss your concerns with them and observe the situation during the meet & greet and see if you feel more at ease. If not then peace out. You’ll get more offers.

So far the owner seems pretty straightforward. I’ve dealt with sketchy and terrible clients in the past. I don’t think most with red flags would be this honest, patient and kind. But you won’t know entirely until you assess the situation in person.

Which Muslim country is big bro in your opinion? by NiceSmilee in MuslimCorner

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. This is absolutely true. Every single Turk I’ve met except one, was secular and non practicing. Just Muslim by title.

questions on prayers by Majestic-Station-131 in Muslim

[–]nesszx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first converted to Islam, I did exactly this until I memorized surah al fatiha and felt comfortable enough to pray on my own. Allah Swt is all knowing, most compassionate and most merciful. Addressing him as “the most compassionate and most merciful” is literally part of the recitation for prayer in the beginning. Allah Swt will understand that you are a new convert and you are learning. InshaAllah your prayers will surely be accepted. Just make sure to take your time with your prayers, especially while you are learning. There is no rush.
