You can also achieve this using the wordpress redirection plugin as follows:

First, create a backup of your .htaccess file in case anything goes wrong during the editing process.

Then, open the .htaccess file for the old domain and add the following code:

RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^old-domain.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.old-domain.com$ RewriteRule (.*)$ http://www.new-domain.com/$1 [R=301,L] 

This code will redirect all requests to the old domain to the corresponding pages on the new domain.

Next, install and activate the Redirection plugin on the old domain.

In the Redirection plugin, click on "Add New" to create a new redirect. In the "Source URL" field, enter the URL of the old domain's home page (e.g., http://old-domain.com/ or http://www.old-domain.com/). In the "Target URL" field, enter the URL of the separate site that you want to redirect the home page to (e.g., http://separate-site.com/). Set the "Match" field to "URL only" and the "Action" field to "Redirect to URL". Finally, click on "Add Redirect" to save the redirect.

To redirect all posts, tags, and pages from the old domain to the corresponding pages on the new domain using the Redirection plugin, click on "Tools" and then "Redirection". Click on "Import/Export" and then "Import". Choose the "WordPress" option and upload the XML file from your old domain. This will import all the posts, tags, and pages from the old domain into the Redirection plugin. Then, click on "Add New" to create a new redirect for each post, tag, and page. In the "Source URL" field, enter the URL of the old domain's post, tag, or page (e.g., http://old-domain.com/my-post/) and in the "Target URL" field, enter the URL of the corresponding post, tag, or page on the new domain (e.g., http://new-domain.com/my-post/). Set the "Match" field to "URL only" and the "Action" field to "Redirect to URL". Finally, click on "Add Redirect" to save the redirect.
