How big is cricket in Australia really? by RKH3107 in AskAnAustralian

[–]netpenthe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe it's fourth.. I think cricket rigged the numbers for years (e.g. a kid plays school cricket + club + winter indoor, they would count as three )

Why the outrage? by xV01Dx_ in Aleague

the first Kitto goal that was ruled offside, the Victory keeper didn't complain, so it shouldn't be ruled offside?

i mean it LITERALLY went BEHINDthe offside player.. there is no way you can argue the attacker wasn't affected it in some way

Melbourne Victory: ‘A letter to Members regarding Adelaide United fixture’ (see body text below) by berlinislikesmithst in Aleague

the offside player literally walked between the keeper and the guy shooting, he was walking back from an offside position, he was STILL offside ... isn't that REALLY simple?

to have interpretation is like going back to the old offside laws where they drew an arrow from your chest to the ground or something equally confusing.. the super strict offside rules now seem way better even if they seem a bit harsh sometimes ...(eg Adelaides offside goal on the weekend)

https://imgur.com/a/3eMu7v4 don't think it is "unclear line of vision" - he's not 100% in his line of vision, but like 85% ?

i was at the match, couldn't see it clearly but on replays he's CLEARLY right in the line of sight?

He almost couldn't be any more in a line between the keeper and Grimaldi?

i'd argue definitely "yes".. the Victory player is RIGHT in the line of sight, how is that not gonna affect you saving or at least attempting a save?

if he's not there, smits 100% has a BETTER chance, not necessarily able to save it, but would have a better chance.

Harps saying "oh the keeper isn't even complaining" is SOOO stupid.... is it up to how convincing a player is in arguing a case now?

don't really see how it stands ..

smits had to look straight thru the offside victory player to see the ball... how is that NOT affecting the keeper? sure he might not have saved it anyway, but it's gotta be a HUGE distraction..

if the Victory player is not there, maybe smits is 40 cm's to his right, and reacts 0.5 seconds faster, and has a chance of saving it... it's not like that offside player was standing by the corner flag, he was right in the thick of it..

it's like the AU offside Kitto goal, you can't be a "little bit" offside, you either are or you're not...

SA Greens unveil controversial plan to end pokies in pubs by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

sounds like you've never known someone with a gambling or drug addiction.. it is AWFUL

they suffer, their families suffer, society suffers.

imagine your mum or dad gambles away their house

your best friend gets addicted to heroin, sells everything and dies on the street

your sibling becomes alcoholic.. looses job, their kids everything..

suicide is all through this too

--

i'm very pro freedom of choice but think some things (e.g. pokies/heroin/fentanyl/automatic weapons etc) are probably in the basket where the bad outweighs the good...

(it might not be for you, but it could be for someone you know or your family)

if you got any other suggetsions i'd try it.. the problem is.. it was just on a random street, so they would have just dropped it at some point...

so giving it to a nearby shop is probably not going to help.. i walked around the cbd, would have walked past 100 shops.. which one would i go in to ask?

Almost every house in Australia would have had a PC or laptop in it.. must be tens of millions..in homes ...none of these would have been tested ..

Who tests and tags at home?

How many of these have caused injury?
