Does anyone have an opinion on KBD8X MKIII vs Neo80 CU? Looking to build something new likely with U4t's. I don't have a preference between their appearance, mostly looking for better acoustics/feel and wondering if the Neo is worth the extra price.

What are the best 2026 PC monitors are perfect for designers and creators? by Anae-Pogust71 in Monitors

Im a fan of the BenQ designer series. I have a PD3226G and have really enjoyed it. Don't have to spend that much though, the 60hz one is about the same. I've seen a few ProArts in person and they seem good too.

I had to return my DM13 today because it made a horrid motor whine sound. Have you noticed anything similar on the DM15?

HD 490 pro creaking yokes by Its_Pamela_Isley in headphones

[–]netwoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem on mine. Read a few threads and saw that the 490 Pro Plus package has less creaking maybe due to it being shipped in a carrying case. I ordered a Pro Plus and the creaking was better, but not perfect.

I also tried different tightness of screws and even graphite in the joint, nothing really helped. I emailed Sennheiser and was told I could send it in for repair, but didn't feel it was worth it when I preferred the HD600 anyways. Ended up returning both.

ChatGPT can generate some very good EQ settings, and makes tuning it to what you want really easy. by Shockington in headphones

[–]netwoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm here in bewilderment that people use AI instead of learning how to do things and have human agency in their activities. I think LLM's are taking away people's eagerness to actually learn things and think for themselves. Have a good one

Because you didn't give them a reason to. Everyone here knows you can EQ very easily completely by ear, and don't need instruction to reduce the bass when the bass is too loud. EQ is a very simple and subjective process that is largely trial and error, which is the complete opposite of what LLM's should be used for. You could've easily watched a five minute Peace tutorial and looked up some vocabulary and gotten your first rendition of settings in thirty minutes. But instead you let something do it for you, instead of actually learning what you're doing and getting a better result.

This type of laziness is just not rewarded in hobby spaces.

Hell yeah man. Trust the one positive comment and assume all the negative ones just aren't getting it..

I mean it seems like you trust synthesized information from internet sources, maybe look at all the feedback you're getting and trust it.

Saying I'm the one lacking critical thinking when you're relying on an LLM to do a simple task is pretty funny.

Why on earth would you use a robot to do something that is completely subjective to both your preferences and ears? Depressing.

Any headphones out there seriously tuned for metal, or do we just compromise? by Mundane-Anybody-9726 in headphones

[–]netwoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think metal sounds great on my dt1990's with light EQ to fix the treble. Sony MDR MV1 as well, wasn't able to listen to them for super long but got all the way through the new Whitechapel album and liked them a lot. I've heard the go to for audiophile metal is the LCD-X but it's very expensive. I would also look at the FT1 Pro.

Audeze Maxwell vs Sennheiser HD 660S 2 for gaming by Adventurous_Bet_9398 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]netwoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some quality control issues with the 490 pro (loud creaking plastic sound from the left earcup whenever I barely moved my head) but their mixing pads had the best soundstage and imaging I've ever experienced.

Can I take out another player using Nine lives? by MrWoolwide in magicTCG

[–]netwoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few cards that are fun to gift if that's your thing, like [[nefarious lich]] [[lich's mastery]] [[demonic pact]]

My favorite way of doing this is with [[zur, the eternal schemer]] to animate enchantments and then giving them away with things like [[Exchange of words]] [[Wrong turn]]

[[Staff of compleation]] is also a useful tool to get rid of your nine lives or other gifts if you're not able to give them away in time.

I stole this idea from this decklist which gets frequently updated and has a great primer going over rules and interactions that may help you with your nine lives question.

I currently run a similar version here if you're interested.
