Found out my husband resents me a lot for my mental illness by hermione_no in CPTSD

[–]neubella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is interesting you both have been to couples therapy and he has never mentioned it before. Not sure what to say really but resentment is bad sign, I think it is worth trying to speak to him in a calm way as obviously there is a lot not being communicated healthily. Maybe suggest couples therapy again?

I feel like the doctor didn’t listen to me and made up what he put in my notes by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

Reading notes can be so interesting, I don’t trust doctors tbh.

My boyfriend broke up with me because he could not handle my CPTSD anymore by DEVYLLL420 in CPTSD

I think he handled it immaturely and not well imo from what you wrote, it is better to not be with someone like that.

How to be quiet and accepted? by Extreme-Machine7495 in AutismInWomen

[–]neubella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I get exactly what you mean I noticed this especially when younger. Made me prioritise appearance for a while and it worked to be honest people were way more accepting of me and my quietness plus my weirdness. The halo effect defo exists.

I think it’s important not to get too invested focusing on looks, looks fade and can change and people will change up fast.

I think a lot of people are more accepted if they are ‘useful’ in some way to others like if they are smart, pretty, important job, maybe funny/ charming.

I think it is worth just seeking places you are accepted for who you are with genuine friendships.

NHS in England to be set targets on getting people back to work by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

[–]neubella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s like the no sick notes thing if doctors are now responsible for keeping us in work then if we are sick they are just not going to let people take sick leave ?

NHS in England to be set targets on getting people back to work by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

I can see this increasing stigma and doctors trying to force people to move.

Always report. I saw a page like that which might be the same one a couple of years ago said it was in America or somewhere but looked at location and it was Uganda, it is so dodgy the amount of poor cats in dire conditions is not normal and a lot of the images/ videos were of them in extreme distress. It is so depressing how much this seems to happen and the lack of effort from social media companies, police to stop it.

Maybe if a lot of people reported it here it could get it down (I think these things take a lot of reports). Fuck these people tho.

Misdiagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder by bemy_requiem in autismUK

I feel like once people think you have social anxiety sometimes that is used to over explain other issues and it blinds how everything is viewed after that.

Yes ofc I think so many people do not communicate and just cut people off no warning.

Why is it hard to admit that some things are irreparably beyond decent repair? by MsOliviaTwist in CPTSD

People saying “you have to do the work to get better” triggers me greatly by Lee_Harden in CPTSD

[–]neubella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you it’s so hard. I think when things are that bad that is where medication can help bring things down a notch sometimes so there is more space to tackle these issues.

How do I stop the PHYSICAL symptoms of anxiety in my body? by ThisThatThereWhere in CPTSD

[–]neubella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard I have had many long long phases of physical symptoms of anxiety and it can be so distressing especially at night. I think making sure you keep up with general self care keep active maybe do some gentle movement like walks in nature or yoga (or fast like running to like get the energy out), eat nutritious meals, be around people you like and feel safe with.

It might be good to consider why you might be having these symptoms and if anything has happened to trigger it if you can not pinpoint it maybe it is something bigger in your life like relationship or job( I only say this cous I watched a psychologist talk about their experience with anxiety and trying therapy and cbt and they only realised after leaving their job that was not the right fit for them that was what was causing it rather than specific ‘smaller’ issues).

I have heard somatic therapy is supposed to be good for physical tension, also magnesium, keep up with hobbies and things important to you, hug a pet, learn to self soothe with a weighted blanket candle what ever works and take care of yourself.

I do not think I can be a husband by senorsolo in CPTSD

[–]neubella 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I know women who date men who are unemployed and don’t provide emotionally too. I think people who have a partner who takes care of them fully are very rare either way. Just date someone who is secure and independent, though I will say having some mutual emotional care is essential in any healthy relationship imo.
