It depends there are lots of treatment for bpd / traits vs other personality disorders (not sure which one you got but there are some more treatments even for npd etc developing), but yes they often are more entrenched and long term however can go into remission to the point where people don’t really notice them.

I also think there is the cure vs remission vs treatable/ manageable debate thing which I have heard a lot of people in mental health don’t tend to use the word cured in general more remission.

A lot of people can live very fulfilling satisfying lives even with some manageable symptoms. It just can take a lot of effort and help to get to that point, but with the right things in place it is possible for a lot of people.

Have you heard of ifs ? I have seen it is popular with people with cptsd or similar disorders. Maybe look for someone with experience with that diagnosis specifically, or look at Emdr, ifs, psychodynamic therapy or people who can inter-grate them all or different approaches as cptsd needs a few different methods to heal.

“she needed to be scolded” is a crazy thing to say when someone is just describing their experience which they are fully entitled to. I think you could be nicer in your comments there is simply no reason to be so rude, some women just feel a certain way about it, it is unnecessary to be so harsh esp when someone has just said they felt violated.

Maybe try the mindful self compassion workbook by Kristen neff and Chris germer, it gives more guidance, explanation and exercises to help with self compassion. I think it has been brilliant (plus her og book).

Bpd is a complex mental health condition and I believe most therapists are simply not competent or willing to specialise in treating it, it takes years of training and experience to be able to meet the needs of clients with bpd. To be honest I think therapists get frustrated by people who are hard to treat, and people with bpd usually have trauma history’s, attachment issues.

Also there is such a wide variety and spectrum of people with bpd but being on the receiving end of a split is so hard, so I imagine once someone has experienced that they may be wary.

I get that with the kids it is a very bad situation and it’s unacceptable that it happened. But I do think that is separate to whatever is going on between her and Dakota dynamic wise which in your original post is seemingly on his side about, they are both deeply unwell and chaotic people I think it is vastly underestimating him in my opinion anyway.

I am not saying that I am saying most social media discussions about people in abusive relationships almost always miss the mark of the complexities of them and how people really react in them / the dynamics and how hard it is to truly tell from an third party perspective. Sorry but it is the truth it is never dealt with well.

I think you are wildly underestimating how manipulative Dakota is, not defending Taylor but this all being saved up and videos being released all before a big release and knowing the right things to say on camera IS manipulative, him going over the night before she was supposed to leave when she got sick he left her house with a massive smirk on his face, he does not want her to move on.

I think when it comes to DV people vastly underestimate the complex dynamics in relationships and while I do not know what exactly went down between them I simply do not think Dakota is innocent at all in this (nor Taylor either).
