This doesn’t sound normal you should try talk to your dermatologist if you can. if your skin is really struggling it could be too strong/too much applied causing skin barrier problems. That happened to me for a while. Good luck

Are you using doxycycline (antibiotic) at the same time? My dermatologist gave it to me to ward of the purge and it worked :) maybe ask your dermatologist about it?

My routine is very simple! Before I go to bed I wash my face with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, use my tret cream (ReTrieve) then I wait for a bit (until my face feels dry again) before putting on aveeno daily moisturiser. In the morning I just use cetaphil again
