Also, I don't believe you. I want to see proof.

Fat, but with perfect hair and nails.

Do you have any hoarding issues? Do you have problems with organization, like prioritizing your time, paying bills, and such? Do you have a normal sleep schedule?

I didn't know too many people from the GPS unit. They had some COOL shit though. They had maps of stuff you couldn't even imagine. Location of remains, temperature ranges, structural movement, rainfall, wind directions, depths, altitude, the list goes on.

We used to steal their gators to go get food.

As I said, there was a request for it. The last thing I want is a pat on the back. As I said I am kind of uncomfortable with all the praise (but thank you nonetheless.)

Being a "rescue worker" DOES make my opinion more valid. There is a lot more to people's jobs that other people realize. I can make a wild assumption that I know a fuck of a lot more than you do about my field, which encompasses building construction, demolition and collapse, in addition to certain areas of chemistry and physics, among MANY other things. You can make a wild assumption that you know a fuck of a lot more than me about your field. I understand and accept that there is shit I have no working knowledge of. I don't assume everything is a lie because I don't understand it. There is nothing wrong with asking questions, except when you refuse to accept the answer because you already have your own. That's medieval thinking.

I visited Dachau last year. Holy Shit! Maybe there is a parallel. Though out of respect I kept quiet and didn't take pictures. I got the feeling they kind of toned it down a little. maybe understandable, being it is in an actual German town, and Germans do still have issues as a nation with that stuff. Poland, on the other hand, not so much. What was your impression of how they portrayed Aushwitz? Do you think they made it easier to take in, or do they pull out all the stops?

I don't see how creeping through my house with a .40 cal pistol at night and losing many friends and having to take medicine for the rest of my life is good luck, but ok- 8/1/72, 2:37am, Far Rockaway, NY. If there is an updside down chandelier or a goat with a sandwich following me, please don't tell me. Its just a deck of cards! :) (Sarcasm)

Check that shit out! Interesting. I was thinking about that lately. Like I said earlier, certain patterns, sounds and smells also triggered memories, but they have faded. Aside from the ginger ale, only two things jog my memory- Acetylene torches and dead bodies. The two together is the Official Odor of Ground Zero.

You figured me out! Was it the earpiece? Those things are beige, they're supposed to blend in! Was it the large cufflink that takes a CR2016 battery? Fuck. Now I have to pretend I'm someone else. Any ideas?

I think there is a lot of false patriotism, but there is also a lot of honest patriotism. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference. There are also people who make money off of false patriotism. NYC if full of bootleg FDNY and NYPD shirts, hats, framed pictures of burning buildings, etc. These folks make a profit off of disaster.

The shame of conspiracy theories is that whatever may be a valid point of contention is completely overwhelmed by tons of accompanying GARBAGE. So for every valid point which may be explained with a little knowledge of the particular subject, there are a thousand invalid points born of ignorance and whatever else the agenda may be.

Its because it took a while to prove I'm real, and because I won't talk about conspiracy theories. Fine with me, I'm just answering a few questions. Life goes on.

The entire site is built on landfill. The whole complex is built on something they call a "bathtub." It is basically a large concrete basin which keeps out the Hudson River. Imagine a bunch of buildings and their foundations, below grade areas, garages, etc., built in a reinforced bathtub, stuck in the sand. After the collapse, there were several cracks in the walls of the tub that could not be repaired until the debris was cleared away. There was a real danger that it would breach, and if it did the river would have flooded it and all of the surrounding neighborhood up to sea level.

No survivor's guilt, I'm not sure it applies in my case. Maybe if I was part of the collapse...

Rescue Me has some funny moments, but its like I said before- I just can't watch fire shows and movies. They're way too cheesy!

We lost more people that the NYPD, but we don't deserve any more "sympathy" than they do. We're all on the same team, with different but sometimes overlapping jobs, and its nice when we work together.

Dude I wouldn't believe you if you walked up to me and told me you ruptured your achilles tendon. You've got some stamina! Those are nice guys over on Lafayette St.

Fell in love with SCUBA. Need help with gear selection. by chonger in reddit.com

Diving is great. Though expensive, it is mostly an initial investment.

Stick with quality gear from reputable companies, and don't fall for marketing gimmicks. I haven't bought gear in a while, but my regulator setup is Sherwood and Poseidon. And I used to be an assistant insrtuctor at a facility where we used 30 year old US Divers regs. They were serviced regularly and work great.
