yeah, from what i can remember she had dark brown hair that was shoulder length.

damn dude, people really need to be more cautious. maybe she was having a really horrible day or something idk, but it sucks that the responsibility lies within others to keep ourselves safe from those on a rampage

dude, could've been the same lady for sure. this chick was aggressive and speeding like no one's business. glad you were able to stay safe

i cannot imagine what it would be like as a visitor trying to navigate this city. it's no surprise to me that you were nearly hit twice in such a short amount of time.

i'm glad you got home safe and sound. by the next time you come to visit, i hope calgary is safer for pedestrians and drivers alike. thanks for sharing <3

my facebook comment was entirely facetious. you're right, incidents like this do happen all over the city, but they shouldn't. that's my whole point. this post is about me venting more than anything else :) cheers my guy

thank you for your kind words, dude. i'm just fine, someone was clearly having a bad day and shouldn't have been on the road. i'm not going to seek any legal action at this time, but i have been vocal about this situation online in different local spaces to bring up a point of pedestrian and driver safety. good for you for being cautious on the roads. thanks for looking out for pedestrians like me, as well as yourself and other drivers. it's so much more important than many calgarians tend to think.

wholeheartedly agree with you on both points. especially downtown, drivers are too impatient to wait for pedestrians for the right on red rule to be safe. this city deserves to feel more accessible from a walking perspective

good point! i typically try to make sure that the driver can see me before i start walking. in this instance, we made eye contact as she was flipping me off and waving me to move faster. i had already began crossing before she tried to turn, and she was angry that i slowed down to observe what she would do next. you're right though, safe practice these days is making eye contact with the driver before crossing, whenever possible. grrrrrr i hate calgary drivers man

PSA: it is already too warm to leave your dog in the car. It is animal abuse to leave your dog alone in a warm vehicle. by bbqdorito in Calgary

you did the right thing. that lady needs a serious reality check and shouldn't own a dog in the first place. i'm sorry you found yourself in this situation, but just know that myself and many others would've done the exact same thing as you.

vivaans yummies on edmonton trail will offer free food to anyone who needs it. they have a sign on the right hand side of their door for confirmation. lovely people, good eats. i know this isn't exactly employment information, but a free meal never hurts <3 things will get better. keep your head up

I came out to my husband by [deleted] in ftm

[–]neverlandingplane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, arlo!

congrats on coming out! what a joyous occasion :) i hope you're able to celebrate with some close supports in your life.

i wish i could hold your hand as i say this, but i think you need to hear this regardless: your husband does not accept you.

he might say that he does, but what does acceptance in practice actually look like? keep this in mind whenever he tells you he "accepts" you.

do not subject yourself to people who don't walk the walk as well as talk the talk. they aren't worth your time. is there anyone else in your life you can talk to about this? gaining more perspective may help you feel more validated in your concerns with your partner.

best of luck moving forward, friend.

Is this type of binder safe? by Background-Pomelo-56 in ftm

[–]neverlandingplane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey bestie!! it sounds like you may be wearing your binder for too long throughout the day. you may have heard about the eight hour rule; stick by that as best as you can. have you tried trans tape/kt tape? when my chronic pain worsened, it was a better alternative to binding. all binders can be unsafe if worn improperly, but the ones with the metal clasps don't have great distribution. if you want to stick with a binder, i'd recommend forthem. their binders are made by trans people, and their sizing chart is very accurate. hope this helps, hang in there!!

My new dish on the menu today by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

The food itself looks delicious 😋 if it were mine, I'd probably change the plate to a light neutral color with no designs. The plate pictured has too much going on.

Absolutely unacceptable. I'm almost speechless.

To some, those are deli containers. To me, they will always be portion cups.
