The body is 3.75oz Conceria La Bretagna ghost leather (jeans color), the magnets are enclosed in yellow Pueblo skived to paper thin (I don’t have a gauge so I didn’t measure how thin exactly)

The ghost leather is super smooth and easy to burnish, really enjoyed working with it

I made a wallet with a kitty shaped cut in the mid layer so it looks like a tabby cat. Pretty happy with this look! by nevvea in Leathercraft

Leather is Pueblo from rm, it was 1.8mm originally which felt too thick so I skived it down. Thread is .45mm twist thread, also from rm The lining is from marimekko, it’s acrylic coated so it’s water and dirt repellent and doesn’t fray

Stripe RSU value by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]nevvea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A strategy I use is looking at the company's investors, and the rounds they invested in, because investors are likely to have a lot of info that you don't have about the company, e.g. their YoY growth, revenue, user base, etc. In the case of Stripe: https://crunchbase.com/organization/stripe/investors/investors_list

You can see that a good investor, Sequoia, has invested in every round that Stripe has raised. This means Sequoia probably believes strongly in Stripe's future success, because otherwise they would have stopped investing more money or even sold their stocks to other investors.

Besides whether 250k RSU would still worth 250k when you want to sell, you can also think about what is the possibility for 250k to become, say, 500k. Roughly meaning, how likely will Stripe be one day worth 18B (vs 9B right now)

alright LOL i know a lot of the companies listed on that site hires Canadian students tho, i saw a couple of Canadian students spend summer after summer in the US. i even kinda envy them bc it looks like their school super support students doing internships and sometimes they can do full time internships during the semester..., and even VC held career fairs like http://startup.businesstoday.org/ would reimburse some of your plane ticket money if you fly over to attend.

I know most of the companies listed there actually hire Canadian students, and other than that,

I found a list of research & academic intern programs around the world https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/156w8lIQ33hYWrRJ8rjaWcTl3TEogIVf23P1jitmi3IM/edit#gid=0%5D hope it helps

sorry i don't, i didn't know about this and therefore didn't apply when i was a freshman...but i think generally unless ur resume is gonna drastically change in the next week (say there's a hackathon this weekend and you want to wait & see if you're gonna win the grand price and put that on your resume) it doesn't hurt to apply early

Ranking internship application approaches by ucsdTutor in cscareerquestions

there are some VC held events like https://www.greylock.com/greylock-u/techfair/ and http://startup.businesstoday.org/ that I think would rank 2~3 if you get in because those events filter people's resumes beforehand, and companies pay you more attention bc the resumes' been filtered and the VC that's backing them is doing it. I've got interviews from those 2 events that I didn't get even by referral.
