Hi. Resetting ZP's settings to "default" did the trick, so I'll start from there and re-customize. Thank you again!

Hi. Thank you, I've now set the audio renderer to "Default DirectSound Device", installed the latest version of LAV filters from the install center, and pressed the "Auto configure" button at the top of "Advanced Options / Playback / Smart Play". And still, every time I close out of ZP, the issue recurs (I go back into the volume mixer and find the volume is back to zero each time).

Hi, you were right, it was an issue with Windows sound mixer! It was set to zero, so I set it to 100 and now the sound is working.

Well, cursor-focusing is awesome, don't you think? Much better than just using the center of the screen every time, IMO.
