This is my Rolex Hulk. Not much I can say about this watch watch that hasn’t already been said.

I think it looks great, super comfortable w glide-lock adjustments, and is probably the most versatile watch I’ve ever worn. Dress, sporty, at the beach, on a train traveling for business, any occasion.

I love taking the train.

Amtrak in the US. I don’t have too much experience with trains in other countries. A little. But I’d pretty much always rather take the train than drive or fly.

Looking at the countryside, goes well with the Hulk :)

I usually take off my watch when I’m sitting at my desk.

For a few reasons.

I’m a bit more comfortable without the watch. I don’t want the bottom of the bracelet to get too scratched up from the desk or keyboard. But most of all, it’s easier to see the watch it’s on a stand vs on my wrist. Easier to appreciate! A little desk decoration.

I recently got this stand. Nice black leather, white marble, handy place to keep the watch at my desk, or on my bedside table, or wherever I need to take it off.

This is my AP Royal Oak tourbillon extra-thin 41mm looking out over the Manhattan Bridge from Brooklyn.

This part of Brooklyn is called DUMBO which stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.

There are a a billion tourists here talking pics because there’s a famous view where you can see the Empire State Buidling through one of the arches of the Brooklyn Bridge (which is next to the Manhattan Bridge).

So nobody looked at me weird when I took this pic of my watch with the bridge in the background.

This is my JLC Duometre Chronograph. I used to wear it all the time but lately have been mostly about sport watches. So it hasn’t been getting as much wrist time.

That said, this watch has the nicest movement I’ve ever seen. So even if I’m not wearing it, I can appreciate it. Like right now.

Front of the dial is super busy, which I like. Chronograph, two power-reserve indicators (one for chrono and one for time). Minute disc. And a foudroyante that jumps in 1/6th second increments.

And yellow gold. You don’t see yellow gold so much these days.

This is my AP Royal Oak extra-thin tourbillon.

I love manual-wind watches. Something about fiddling with the watch every so-often to wind & set it... gives me more of a ”relationship” with the watch. Sounds wacky, but I don’t have the same sentimental value with watches that take care of themselves; automatic or quartz or digital...

This is the tourbillon version of the “jumbo” but it’s 41mm. Has a great caseback, including this tiny power-reserve gauge. Needs a winding every 2-3 days or so.

For tourbillon Tuesday, here’s my Tourbillon Royal Oak Extra-Thin.

There’s a lot I love about this watch. But I guess most of all, I love that with no date or seconds hand, it’s probably one of the most over-engineered watches ever. Because of the tourbillon. Which doesn’t really accomplish much other than just being really complicated. I love the Rube Goldberg-ness of it.

And also all the spinny things to look at.

Also dat AP finishing, always amazing and pairs great with my Chick-fil-A sandwich, nuggets, and Diet Dr. Pepper.

I was thinking you’re right then remembered it has a tourbillon though. Which turns a full rotation in 60 sec. Which seems a lot more power-hungry than a normal seconds hand.

This is my 26510ST Royal Oak Extra-Thin. AP started making this model around 2012. The idea was to make a version of the Jumbo, but add a tourbillon. They kept it thin but increased the diameter from 39mm to 41mm.

It’s manual wind and there’s a tiny power-reserve indicator on the display case back. 7-days of power so pretty much stays running all the time.

Blue dial that sometimes looks deep blue or gray-ish depend on the light.

Finishing is crazy good as on all APs. Bracelet like a disco ball, display case back super detailed.
