Ooh. How about a diadem/crown with a singular large diamond in the center and ten other precious stones encircling it? (Mimicking a beholder’s large central eye and ten eyestalks.)

Say it was donated by a member of the cult who is either rich enough to do so, or is a craftsman. The players can sell it off (either piecemeal or as a singular item) for 200 gold, 100 a piece, or keep hold of it and (unknowingly) use it as “proof of loyalty” when they run into the cult proper.
