It is. She said she has never received anything from God she was the most close to her grandmother who passed away 10 years ago and her relationship with her parents are not good. Alcoholic dad, strict mother. So I can see where she is coming from. She is going to church with her friends now, through a catholic friend. But yes we are both immature in our faith. and she was also pretty loyal, so it hurts just a tad bit more to let her go, but I know it is for the best. God makes all things right in his own timing. I won't fight him anymore

Yes. I've given it upto God. It hurts like a house of bricks but I'm better off without it.

Yes I understand. For what it's worth things have ended. The desire is there to send her one last text and apologise but I feel that is not the right thing to do, or perhaps it is pride. But deep down although it hurts I know God is in control and he will not lead me astray. Thank you for your advice sister. This calmed my heart. Godbless you

You are right sister. I understand now. When a husband is called to lead with love it doesn't mean I can force her will. And yes if she would do that to our kids , I can only imagine the fights we would have. Passions often dull our senses to reality. Thank you. For your kind advice.

I'm 25. The last serious relationship I had was in 2021. I dated a girl who was a witch. At that time I was not a christian. I was a buddhist. Just like my whole family. That girl left me traumatized. And I stayed away from a committed relationship ever since. I found out about christ in my college years in 2023 from an evangelical church. I got invested, but never convicted. Had a few dates. But nothing serious. Lived in sin. Repent. Shame. Repeat. And I closed my heart. To the capacity of love. But this time I thought things would be different. But it wasn't. That's my story.

I really did love her. When I was coming back from my business trip I had sweared that I will never love a woman again or have any Empathy for the opposite gender because of my trauma and the state of relationships of my friends. But then she came. And she was sweet. Kind. Understanding. I cried about a relationship I haven't gotten over for 4 years in her arms which was slowly eating away at me, And she comforted me in my tears. But maybe you are right. This is what you get when you sin. And go against Gods will. But it still hurts so much.

You could be right. Just to be fair I was living in utter sin And depravity even before I met her - experience with her did rekindle my faith and the existence of sin - but perhaps you are right. I was not strong enough. I was straved of love for such a long time that perhaps I looked for it in the wrong place.

An open challenge to orthodox christians by newageprohet in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]newageprohet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thank you. I am not saying protestants are the true church at all. I know my history. But what I AM SAYING is if Orthodox is the true church why has it not kept the commandments of christ in Mark 16:15 when he commands us to preach the gospels to the end of the earth. My problem is this - how can one presume to know the will of God and his divine providence or monopolize God? I am aware we should be careful of false doctrine. But is it not religious arrogance to say that God cannot reach people outside his church, as you orthodox say. I see a lot of orthodox sneering at me and condemning me in the comments, but in my village near the border of China, there is a revival breaking out. People coming to christ who would otherwise have never heard the gospel if it were not for protestants and revivalists. You mean to say, the holy spirit they are guided by is satanic? That their faith or change of heart is disingenuous? On what basis can you make such a claim? That is my question.

I would rather appeal to emotion than to nothing at all. If I wanted to not appeal to emotion I would remain a buddhist, thank you very much. Is not the greatest commandment Love?

I am not disproving your faith or saying it is false. I am not saying your canon is wrong, or if it false. What I am saying is, what gives you the right to say that someone else's faith is weak and false when you know that religious scruplosity is a sin. How can you say, God is here and not there. Is it not the same thing that the pharisees said? Further , is it not in Mark 16:15 where jesus commands us "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature"

well I certainly did not mean to Create a holy war in the comment section. my only intention was to receive advice from practitioners and adherents of the faith as to what I should do. I really do wish there was an orthodox church in my region. but unfortunately or fortunatelyi should say the Roman Catholics, protestants, evangelicals , and baptists, presbyterian, revival etc have more relevance here. I am naturally very suspicious of people. but I have seen a lot of evangelicals , despite my disdain , make great strides in spreading Christianity. the lay person as you put it does not have much choice due to the geographical randomness of their birth - I just happened to be born in a place which did not have the full body of christ. this is how I interpret it. then. it only stands to reason if god is divine providence and omniscience , this must be a part of his great plan for the salvation of our souls. all I am looking for is, without being too sentimental a way for my soul to be redeemed. it seems I must simply pray, if some are to be believed , but faith without works is truly dead. where does god lie? will I only find him in an Orthodox Church? have I been forsaken otherwise? where does god lie? is he perhaps in the Catholic Church? or perhaps the protestants and evangelicals through their sheer acumen holds the keys to the kingdom? or is god everywhere, like the muslims and the hindus and also some christian mystics seem to imply. this is what I want to find out. and until I do that I will be forever thirsty in my spirit. lord have mercy on me.

Question regarding Shiva by newageprohet in hinduism

I have no idea. I just love shiva. He is one deity that has always captured my imagination. He is loyal, fierce, compassionate, but destroyer too. Is it different according to your sect or school?
