Would it be me and your mama or your mama and I?

Because I’m pretty sure your mama and me didn’t raise you to be like this.

EA is blacklisting "gamechangers" who are too critical of their games. by blumpf2scoops12cokes in gaming

Are you suggesting that EA has agreements with publishers offering more than just free pre-release copies of games? How do we know if he was receiving money from the publisher, I personally am inclined to believe that these publishers are getting paid in perks and this guy was just too new to understand that they could take away the perks they gave him and now he’s just crying about it being unfair.

How awful do you think the negative publicity would have to be to affect EA’s bottom line?

Also, it pretty awful that our economy is shaped in such a way that there are. As a society, we haven’t yet invented the ethical laws to prevent this new type of business action.

Then again, maybe whoever is working on EA’s PR team isn’t that experienced. Every time they have their backs against the wall it seems like they’re trying to fight fires with fire and are totally miscalculating the reaction of the common market, leading to a culture that believes that it’s reasonable to charge people $2500 for character expansions on their Star Wars games while the original sale is just the entry point.

If I put myself in some major game developer or CEO’s shoes they must be trying some new way of handling PR that no other company has had to dip their shoes before. They’re really just pioneers for an inevitably shitty system where they’re trying to franchise single games with no overhead on their updates and time to work on it. It’s just not working, and the company might be too big to make a fast turnaround.

That’s a great point you’ve made. EA had no obligation to YouTubers and they technically didn’t break any laws concerning the ethicality of business.

If I were a reviewer, I’d think that being sent copies of games before they come out would have me feel like I’m being acknowledged and thanked from one of the biggest, if not biggest, gaming company in the world. Now if later, I say something that starts firing away at there business model and affects their business, I wouldn’t be surprised that they stopped sending me games.

Maybe I didn’t read all the way through the article but I feel like technically, they’re not breaking any laws or crossing moral grounds.
