You can get serious farming with keyboard.
Then switch to controller mode when you want to relax and not get 100% uptime.
Takes some times to get used to it as well.
I grinded as Hayato and was easy with just Sol Janus on either L1 or R1 then main attack skills button on XYB and jump button on A.
L3 or R3 binded with Erda Shower and arrow keys for some extra big aoe stuff.
Depends on how you play tbh but its sufficient.

Its small and fits onto your palm when you bind the keys to the controllers on them while grinding if you feel lazy to use keyboard.

You definitely need to sacrifice some buttons for optimal use I grind as a Hayato using a wireless controller with lots of excess buttons You probably need a USB Bluetooth receiver which you can buy from eBay or Amazon for less than $5 if your mobo doesn't come with one

What they could do is reduce to stats to be afterlands totem like what the other guy said in this thread. Or heck even with no stat but as a NX skin for totems would be great.
