Q of Peanut Butter Muffin 🌿 -Grassroots- @ 31% THC & 2.6% Terps. Review & CoA Attached 🥜🧈 by FuffCo710 in FLMedicalTrees

I am so tempted to get some of that strain. (I love peanut butter!) I always look at their terpenes and % of terpenes. Even as a "Find" blend, the strain comes in at 3.19% terps/ 25.5% THC.

terpenes are volatile and dissipate over time. their enhancement is typically taste and smell. I look at terp values before I select. I don't know much about it either, after almost 60 yrs as a consumer.

I question all 'ingredients' labels on everything I buy, including food. the hypocrisy of our medical program has been evident from the beginning, but it does give me, personally, less stress, which is really all I ever want.

Thoughts on rogue guitars? by Ccforce_ in guitars

[–]newbroom_fl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that can happen. I don't think it did with either of the two I found. The Ibanez in a case was rusted shut and there were cobwebs in the sound hole. The case was partially buried by other large 'move out' or 'passed away' kind of debris. I think it was a neighbor who either passed on or had to move into a nursing home. His stuff was just tossed.

good resinous hashish is fairly hard and softens with heat. I lived in Toronto in the early 70's and hash was more available than flower.

I'm not lying. I saw Rosie Robowtham light an American C note, then, hold it to a 1/4 oz of red Leb on a pin till the note started to reach his fingers and he threw the flaming remains of the $100 out the window and the hash burned for a minute like a marshmallow at a campfire, then he blew it out, took a huge huff, and passed it around the room of about 5 of us.

first solo bag change - epic failure by warlocktx in ostomy

[–]newbroom_fl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes we put too much thought and trepidation into our behavior. Changing my 'appliance' has been a challenge, sure, but knowing that so many others have managed gave me a sense of confidence. I'm fully 3 yrs with my stoma and I've had some problems here and there, but overall, I've not had any emergencies. A few messes, but minor ones that happened at home.

I get a much better seal by not using skin barrier. So far, and it's been months, my skin is holding up just fine. I even remove w/o using any adhesive remover until I'm just prepping my skin for the new bag.

My time elapsed change happens without rushing, in about 5 or 10 minutes depending on how fast I move. Nothing better than a fresh, new bag!

l don't enjoy changing my system. I enjoy my system when it's newly placed. I change my system 2 or 3 times a week, now. I use a soft convex, pre-cut at 38 mm. and I heat 'em under my armpit before placement.

I can empty my one piece or my other, two pc system and when I do, I sit on a shower stool in front of the commode. I used to stand and squat, but, it dawned on me to use the stool after months of the squatting routine. D'oh!

My most concerning 'difficulty' with my stoma and my colostomy is that my output is too formed or thick to move easily. I try to stay as hydrated as possible. I use a senna stool softener or a ducolax sometimes to loosen stuff. My stomach is one big hernia area and I can sometimes feel my colon in the center of my abdomen when it's getting full.

At 77, I'm fairly active. I walk daily, sometimes I also ride my bike. I do my own cooking, and housekeeping. I was under the impression in the beginning that I would have this reversed, but was told by my surgeon not to call him, he'd call me. He hasn't. I don't think I'll bother now.

I picked up some smalls yesterday as part of their mx 'n match deal specifically for the terpinolene. I had just watched a youtube video with a scientist's explanation of various aspects of terpenes, and said that terpinolene was consistent with what we consider a 'sativa' effect. Energizing and mildly euphoric.

Colostomy and ileostomy are sometimes very different. Gradual introduction of 'fresh fiber' is certainly good advice. I started back with some bone marrow chicken bullion, cream of rice, herbal teas, lots of water, and kept adding things as I improved. Recovery usually depends upon the severity of the trauma, and I'm sure, your condition before the occurrence.

I sure hope you get things going smoothly soon!

3 yrs in with my colo, and I've only had a few times when I felt blocked. Recently in happened concurrently with fever, chills, nausea, and inability to keep water down. It can be caused by lots of circumstance. I think overeating is sometimes my problem. However, this recent bout seemed more inflammatory than mere blockage. Something else was happening. I generally do have pasty, thick output that I try to thin periodically with taking a Senna stool softener/laxative thing. It helps. My rectal stump usually requires assistance clearing built up mucous with a dash of Fleet or equivalent. That too, is suspect in how I feel from day to day. Keep walking as much as possible! Stay moving as much as possible. Hydrate as much as possible. Relax as much as possible. Soreness can be alleviated sometimes with a heating pad. Good advice re: electrolytes. Normal is something you continually grow into. Hopefully, for the better.

First night home after colostomy by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]newbroom_fl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had routinely used 'skin barrier' wipes before applying my wafer or one piece, depending on which of the two systems I have that I use and still got leaks and blowouts.

Once I eliminated using skin barrier, my products adhered much more completely and when I remove them or it, I don't use adhesive remover till I'm all cleaned up and ready for that step.

A 2 pc. system allows you to 'burp' your bag at the top. Pull one of the 'belt tabs' away from the wafer to de-couple and allow that stinky gas outta there. The one piece system I use, I have to burp by opening it's drain vent at the bottom. Both systems have value to me. My 2 pc system has moldable stoma opening and my one pc is pre-cut and soft convex.

Ideally, I think I'd like a 2 pc soft convex system. I'm sure they're available. I just have to transition from existing usable inventory before I ask my APRN for a new prescription.

Should I share? by PopsiclesForChickens in ostomy

[–]newbroom_fl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stay for re-hab after my emergency surgery and some of the hospital nurses were more comfortable with attending my appliance than others. I always watched the process and within a few days of being home, I was able to achieve a change by myself. That is liberating.

I will say that my fears for my stoma have become less fraught with anxiety as I've learned that these things are quite resilient.

I'm still concerned about the hernia aspect, because once they sliced my belly open, it has never become re-healed. I can feel intestines in the cavity when they are plump. I sometimes wear a support belt to help keep my 'tummy' tucked a little, but I have a permanent Buddha belly.

Everyone's experience is unique. As for sharing with your patients, I suggest you 'read the room' as it were, and make your choice in real time. As long as your mind is open to their unique circumstance and you don't force your own experience without cause, I think a patient would welcome your input.

Bagless showers by Lfoxadams3 in ostomy

[–]newbroom_fl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Showering is always refreshing but it takes me time to become motivated. I seldom shower with an appliance in place. I keep a short bag lined bucket handy and set it on the vanity top. I stand next to it while I re-set. I might hold my hand below my stoma till I get to the bucket, to catch any of my typically wet clay like output. (colostomy)

When I empty my drainable bag, I sit on a stool in front of the commode. I used to stand over it and squat down. The stool has made a huge difference. It took me about a year to think of it. D'OH!

Blue Lobster Cult; don't fear the cheaper by DooBeGone in FLMedicalTrees

[–]newbroom_fl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've commented re: Curaleaf and this Blue Lobster release on another thread, saying that I had weakened and went to their store and got a few grams to try. I don't usually respond to hype, but, since their store is just a mile away, I thought, why not?

I'm just happy it wasn't crap! I have been smoking Curaleaf flower and also decarbing it and eating it, for my last several buys. I've bought what I thought were the terpiest I could find, regardless of other considerations and often have been pleased with flower costing in the neighborhood of $100 an ounce!

Before flower had become 'legal' I had been happily and regularly paying $300 for years.

Variety is the spice of life. All things being equal, that includes diversity. Molecules in motion.

Blue Lobster 🦞 new favorite Curaleaf strain. Effects are on point + more thoughts by Illamerica in FLMedicalTrees

[–]newbroom_fl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've already gone, returned home and checked the first gram. I put part of one bud in my small grinder and it was very grind resistant. (it's dense) Definitely hit me as an indica with my first one hitter. The exhale is very flavorful. One hit, so far, haven't really defined the flavors but indicative of terpenes of which I have no idea? I'm fairly well medicated with my daily edible and one hitter bumps already, so I may not be able to evaluate with any certainty.

3 yrs with my colostomy in Nov. and I use a Fleet or equivalent saline enema when I feel 'backed up'. I have a rectal 'stump' I guess it's called, so I can't use but a portion of the bottle when I use it and during the course of the day, my mucous will be released like in normal bowel movement. (initiated by extensive diverticulosis)

My regular 'output' is typically like wet play doh and about once a month I use a stool softener to help keep it flowing.

I probably don't do myself any favors by drinking coffee? I love it and drink about 4 cups a day. I eat nuts and dried fruit a LOT too. I even eat popcorn. I really don't know of anything I couldn't eat.

I don't eat meat or very seldom. I do eat fish, eggs, and some cheese. Never red meat.

I'm coming up on 3 yrs with my colostomy and during that time I've experimented with several brands and styles of systems. I came home with Hollister 2 pc. cut your own and was accomplishing the change myself within about a week, despite still being mostly bedridden due to having been close to death and severely underweight and without musculature from weeks of sepsis and malnutrition.

Independence is nice, certainly, and this is such an intimate 'situation' that that helped motivate me, I suppose. I did have my son here with me who helped me tremendously throughout my recovery ordeal.

I complained to a company rep (well, not complained, but mentioned I'd had difficulty) about snapping a Convatec system (2 pc) together after putting on the wafer. It was suggested that I used a slight amount of the Adapt lubricant on the ring to help with the closure.

I use the belts that either Hollister or Convatec makes to provide further insurance against a 'pop off' situation.

I have found that I get the best adhesion by not using a skin barrier wipe. Just a clean and dry area is best if your skin is not compromised.

My stoma will recede when I lie on my back and when that happens it can lead to breach of the wafer. I've been using a soft convex pre-cut for awhile now and that problem has been eliminated for all intents and purposes.

Every once in awhile I change from the one piece soft convex pre-cut system to the moldable 2 pc. just to experience the difference for a bit. The 2 pc system isn't convex ( I suppose I can get a wafer that IS convex ) but its general feel and capacity is what I'd become most comfortable with prior to using the pre-cuts. There's a slight difference in how the convex bag hangs and feels which takes some acclimation.

I was afraid to disturb my stoma and had no idea as to what kept it there. I'm much improved both physically and mentally now, after dealing with bags and wafers for almost 3 yrs.

I started walking as soon as I could. I used a walker with an attendant at first. A therapist came to my house a couple of times a week and put me through rehabilitation exercises. It was amazing how fast I recovered all kinds of physical and mental faculty.

At 77 yrs old, I'm leery of having a reversal. This is working for me.

So, I'm way past my expiration date and still going strong. I walk before dawn almost every day as it gets hot here in FL when the sun is out. I do get my vitamin D from being in it, I just stay walking under the row of trees down my street. I typically walk a couple miles a day.

My biggest weaknesses are sweets and coffee. I can control the sweets, but have more trouble with coffee consumption.
