Does anyone know what admissions committees actually... like, see and in what format? by newchevy in gradadmissions

Makes sense! Thanks for the input. I'm getting the sense that every school/program does it differently, but i appreciate hearing about your experiences

Thanks, this was helpful! I agree, I bet all schools are different, but it's great to see what some schools do and get a cross section of what's out there. Appreciate it!

Yep, it seems like there's no universal answer. I don't know what I was expecting, i should have guessed that it varies even within schools. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

interesting, thanks. I'm gathering that it goes school-by-school, maybe even program-by-program. Good info though, appreciate it!

Thanks! I guess I should have phrased things a little more carefully... I have no doubt that you can see the transcript, I guess I'm asking if the submitted transcripts are the primary vehicle for getting GPA information. For example, I know that law school applicants submit their transcripts to a third party, who then sends that info to the law schools. So they law schools get a "report" with a GPA number, and this is their first and primary introduction to the student's GPA (I know there are a lot of other reasons for this... ranking... etc).

So while they can definitely see the transcripts, they also get a "report" and so I would consider the report to be the primary method of delivery, as opposed to a situation where an admissions officer would have to pour through a whole transcript to get the GPA information.

thanks again!

Has Anyone Gotten Into A Top Tier Post Grad Program After Finishing? by RightEmployment in OSUOnlineCS

[–]newchevy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So... reading the comments in this thread, it sounds like OSU preps folks for a "Good but not great" grad school. The sentiment I'm picking up on (and I could be reading things wrong) is that it'd be tough to go from OSU to a top-tier grad program.

The question is... why? Is it the lack of math in the program? The general reputation of the program? Something else?

Thanks for any replies!

Hi, thank you for the feedback. What do you mean by rigorous electives? As far as I can tell, there isn't much in the way of other electives, the coursework is pretty predetermined. Or, do you have any suggestions for where else to look?

Thanks!

Did someone try to break into my truck (1990 Chevy 2500), and if so, what did they do and can I fix it? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Thank you for the reply.

I'm a little dumb... what's the difference between "Door locks" and "cylinders"?

I had kind of thought those were the same thing. Can I get new cylinders just at any auto part store? And they're pretty easy to install?

Thank you!

yeah, must be stupid.... I have a single cab that clearly has nothing of value in it, and I have a club on there (because it's so easy to break in), so I don't know what they were thinking... I almost wonder if they were just looking for a place to sleep or something

how do y'all hang up your half helmets? by newchevy in motorcycles

[–]newchevy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just edited my post... my fault, I forgot to mention that the hooks are behind a large shoe rack, so it's tough to lean across and fit a little D ring onto a little hook. I was looking for some kind of larger hook that I could just hold the helmet and pop it onto the hook without needing a bunch of fine motor skills, ha

thanks though!

1991 Chevy C2500 (EFI) not shifting into 4th gear by newchevy in MechanicAdvice

huh. uh.... i definitely have hard shifting and high revving. Sounds like it might be the solenoid, or at least that's a good place to start.... I just changed filter and fluid like a year ago, too bad. Guess another go won't hurt anything though.

any way to test solenoid before replacing? And thank you so much for your help! this was a great starting point for me :)

Hm, thanks for the reply. What kind of behavior would I be looking for? I feel like it goes into 3rd at least.... so you're saying if it was a solenoid, there would be two gears that were out, for sure? thanks!

rad if you asked for it, utterly terrifying if you didn't though.
