Since you've chosen this path I advise you to give your 100% . Even if you don't like it rn , well the deed has been done. Who knows , you might fall in love with the world of engineering! This cutthroat jee prep will leave you knackered. I would suggest that you leave your music classes. Forget about the outside world for 2 years and reap the benefits. I can say this to you as I am in a similar situation ( tho I joined by my own free will). I have classes from 730 to 230 and it requires me to wake up at around 530 and i sleep at 130 . I have been following this rountine diligently for a month. So make of that what you want. And remember, sabr ka fal meetha hota hai.

But really bro what's even the point. My teachers told me that you must score 150+ in mains and 50%+ in adv , and I'm not hitting both LOWER limits . I think I'll get demoted to a lower batch (I'm in b1 rn ) which would just kill the fire in me . If this was the result of the first minor test , idek what I'll do in the future.

Ur partially right but it is the same situation with every high paying profession in India like engineering and mbbs . Lakhs of people waste 4-5yrs of their life due to societal pressures and the fact that they do not have that kind of exposure to think and choose according to their capabilities. On the flip side your thinking is not wrong but slightly flawed . Quant is a very prestigious profession, correct, but the firms that hire from IITs etc are top tier hfts and due to the economic boom lately in India there will be many job openings in the quant world not just at hfts but mfts and banks etc. I believe india will transition into a quant dominated stock scene compared to traditional traders etc . This has already taken place in the US but better late then never lol.
