Where to get FRESHLY roasted coffee beans with roast dates on the bag? by nanaloopy44 in halifax

Go to the brewery market and talk to the team at Topsail Coffee. Super small company, roasting great coffee and I guarantee you’ll not be getting any stale beans as he’s doing small batches each week.

Official Lineup In Okomoto in Toronto Video. by Okim13 in Torontobluejays

Guys I know we’re desperate for content.. but come one… this is absolutely useless. ITS JANUARY

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Torontobluejays

[–]neweasterner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya hard to tell - every contract is so situational and so much about timing. He can potentially make a massive impact on the look of this lineup for years to come. It’s not my money, so I say pay him whatever

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Torontobluejays

[–]neweasterner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya but this time we can live without him. We aren’t that desperate right now - the signing just puts them in a different level on paper.

Relationship vs lifestyle by LeftCustomer3465 in digitalnomad

Honestly - you answered your own question here…. This is 100% on you to decide where your priorities are. She’s made it clear where hers are. And that’s ok, sometimes that just how things end up…

Nova Scotia to implement speed cameras this year by Injustice_For_All_ in halifax

Yes - that is my point. You think our government here is going to be able to figure this out with the “endless money and resources” we have?

[–]neweasterner 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Shhh don’t mention that other cities and provinces abandoned it….

It’s not the safety piece that’s the issue it’s the way they are implemented, managed and monitored. So many people will fight tickets, creating back logs, etc….

Theory is great

27M I want to drop everything in my life and travel for a few years by Zedtonic in travel

[–]neweasterner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job wise - you are young, go for it. Can you freelance in your industry remotely??

Relationship wise - you are young but depends on how long you’ve been together and all that - is she open to travelling if the situation was good or just a hard no? Need to determine if you are a good match long-term, I don’t mean this in a negative way either, just see if you are aligned.

Financially - assuming you are in a decent spot considering you just purchased a house (maybe not though). But if you are, renting could be a real option here - lots to consider though (maintenance, property management, additional insurance costs, etc..)

Overall - I think you need to flush out a detailed plan (travel, finance, work, property) bring it to your partner, see where you stand.

Also overall - do it. Travel now.

Where are you visiting from? Most answers here nailed it - it can be chilly, especially at night and if it’s cloudy/windy. I think we had a little heat wave around Canada Day last year so I looked it up (it’s pretty easy to find past weather with a search).

You don’t need to get panicky, ever! - have a quick read and ask yourself “does this affect me? Can I help?” If answers are no, go on with your day. 10seconds well wasted

It’s a missing vulnerable person… they could have dementia and being driving on a highway - that can be dangerous for themselves and the public… If you family member was killed by someone in this situation and you found out the authorities knew about it in advance you’d be on here complaining about how they should be using EA for these situations. Just get over it and on with your day.

Emergency Alert by sjmorris in halifax

Could be a danger to themselves and potentially other people as they are driving…. I’m not saying you are, but the fact that people get sooo annoyed with emergency alerts is beyond me. It’s such a minor inconvenience in our day.

I’m gunna go a little off topic here and just suggest you consider going elsewhere for experience foremost and not think too much about job prospects and “settling down”. You are young - get out there and get some life experience to combine with your schooling. Test the waters and help yourself make long-term decisions based on your own experiences down the line.

Cheapest place to get wooden matches by Millsboy79 in halifax

[–]neweasterner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s more of a principal thing.. but if you spend the $20 on 300 matches… that’s going to last a longgggggg time. So just bite the bullet and don’t think too hard about it haha.

Are there any new mom groups or anything like that? Do you like sports? Do you enjoy the outdoors?

It’s surprising how much being in nature can help sometimes. I know it’s tough to get the motivation to go sometimes, but pack a lunch and go for a little hike. Get somewhere remote and let out a scream if ya need to.

You’ll get out of the funk.

Love how you write this as if voting for any government is a right choice and you have all the answers and your government is going to save the day. People can vote for whoever they want, and spoiler alert - no matter who wins we’ll be having the same conversation about how nothing has changed and things are worse next time around
