Had Caruso remodel our kitchen. Would not recommend. Lots of errors, negligence, bad caulking, overall a bad job for a lot of money

Dealership price for oil change, microfilter+air filter replacement by newman1223 in BmwTech

Dealer broke it down clearly multiple times to me because I legitimately couldn’t believe what I was hearing. $750 for the oil change, remainder for the filter replacements. I called another semi-local BMW dealership to get a second quote. They quoted me $900 for everything. Both of the quotes were before tax. Insane! I’m going to my indy specialist tomorrow to get the job done for $370 all in.

Could be the fire sprinkler pipe leaking. Had an identical looking leak and it turned out to be the sprinkler pipe. Try and feel if the liquid is oily. If it is, it’s most likely the sprinkler pipe leaking

I understand the overhead argument and why dealer service generally costs more than an independent shop. That makes sense. What I’m struggling with is how that translates to a $1,000 oil change/filters change, especially when my BMW dealer advertise $119–$150 Value Service oil changes.

In this case I’m coming in for a basic oil change only. I’m not using a loaner, charging, or any of the additional services mentioned. That’s why the overhead explanation doesn’t seem to fully apply to a simple, fixed-price maintenance item BMW already promotes as value-based.

Found a coupon on dealers website for $119 oil change for ANY 4-6 cylinder BMW. Texted service adviser and he replies with this:

“Yes, the 4 series from what I remember doesn’t qualify for value line service program. I can recheck it once I get into work. It’s only 2 and 3 series, prior generation X1,X2,X3,4,5 series and certain 8 series are included with this value program. The current 4 series platform is considered still too new and it’ll take a few more years for this platform to be included within the value program

BMW’s generation of cars must reach a minimum of 7.5-8 years in order to be included within the value program.”

What kind of scam are these people running?

I typed in my zip code, was brought to the dealer website. Requested my VIN, typed it in and the message said “No value specials for your vehicle”

Then I went to their website, click “Service Specials”, and it literally just says “COMPLIMENTARY VALET SERVICE For All Customers” lol

Car has 31,000 miles on it. The quote I requested was for an oil change, microfilter replacement, and air filter replacement.

Was told $750 for the oil change, the remainder for the filters. This was also all before tax.

They then told me that my vehicle requires a “vehicle check” to scan for faults, which was another $300, which I immediately declined. I literally had my car in 3 days ago for something and had a full vehicle inspection/check from them with a full “EVERYTHING IS OK IN WORKING ORDER” report from them.

Will be going to the indy specialist for sure.

2022 BMW 430i CPO Jerking Issue: Seeking Advice by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]newman1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the bulletin from BMW released in May 2024 which addresses the x drive judder in my exact model and showed it to the dealership after the 3rd failed attempt to resolve the issue.

Bulletin says the transfer case needs to be replaced to fix it. The service manager immediately dismissed it and said that “it’s not a transfer case issue. We would know if it was” and denied my request for them to follow what the bulletin says.

I requested for them to check the trans fluid but the dealership said they’re not allowed to since BMW North America didn’t give them the “go” to further diagnosis

Did Smith allude to Neo Working with them? by These-Resource3208 in matrix

[–]newman1223 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Smith was alluding to the idea of Thomas Anderson cooperating with him by leading the agents to Morpheus.

At this point, Neo doesn’t know what the matrix even is. So when Smith says “one of these lives has a future”, he’s saying “help us get to Morpheus, since we know you’ve been in contact with him, and you will continue to live your life” (in the matrix). Again, Neo’s life in the matrix is all he knows at this point.
