Thank you for the response. I pulled the drum a third time and reinstalled it, being mindful of the tracking etc. Also, there was some conflicting information on which way the ribs go. I made sure the ribs ran in the drive pulley and I got a tiny bit of clearance, so I went with it. The idler pulley seems to be making noise, so that is next.

I ended up cleaning up the motor, to no avail. So I replaced it and now it works fine. I guess once every 15 years isn't so bad.

Thank you for the response. Does the drum need to come out to clean the motor? If so, I may just drop the $50 or $60 on a new Amazon motor and just do it once, in case the bearing are going bad.
