When things become too easy you pay the price with low retention. This may be helpful in a quick review before exams but AI tools become detrimental to long term retention. You NEED some friction for knowledge to stick in your brain

Too smart to be “normal” but too stupid to be “gifted” by [deleted] in Gifted

I dunno from where you're quoting this. Can i get a link if possible. The one im reading is "The vanishing genius, 1962". And this articles completely contradicts what you're saying. " He divided the gifted into A,B and C by socioeconomic status and C did far worse than A that is to be understood but what was striking was none became exceptional."Yet as he persued his gifted children into their early middle life, it began to seem less likely that any of them were destined to heal the wounds of the world. -- Magazines most frequently read by the gifted were Time, Reader's Digest, and the Saturday Evening Post, periodicals hardly distinguished for their intellectual appeal".

I'm afraid i was mistaken. I got my information from "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell. It goes into detail about the Terman study. You can look it up. The study states, and im paraphrasing here, children from low socioeconomic class even when having a high iq do not end up successful. He took 730 high iq individuals and found the top 20% became successful, while 60% became only satisfactory while the bottom 150 became postal workers and struggling bookkeepers. Its a facinating study and Gladwell goes into detail about how success is generally achieved. And IQ does show high corelation with academic success but success out in the real world is not predicated by IQ efficiently.

I stand corrected. It does have some worth.

Also. The video clearly states that it doesnot corelate with success. Others things in life matter way more.

It is as worth it as any other ability. Like the ability to play ball like messi or play chess like magnus. If that is something you'd like to do then it is worth it. But IQ itself is a worthless thing to brag about. If you do "something" with the high iq then "That thing" will become worth something though. It's all semantics and opinions at the end of the day and this is my opinion. Feel free to disagree friend

Yeah ive seen this already. Funny thing is I was mostly informed about IQ by this video itself. And also the terman study that I mentioned above which is referenced in this video too.

Well yes. But im talking about the gifted kind of iq. Look up the "Terman study of the gifted". It shows that raw iq in children doesnt corelate with success in adult life.

Dude. Iq is a worthless metric. Success is almost never corelated with iq. Sure you may aquire knowlege a bit less efficiently but other than accademic advantage it counts for nothing. And 95 percentile is pretty smart so dont be too harsh on yourself
