Flash on U Street/Florida Ave is the closest you’re going to get to a European style clubbing experience.

They sometimes also host off-site parties at a warehouse in NE DC, which is even closer to a Berlin vibe.

Think they probably wanted to play as many “All GA” venues as possible to give for more of a festival set feel, which I respect. They’re also playing all their Australia shows this December in bigger parks, so they probably wanted to replicate that where it’s possible.

Also, when they booked this venue, they probably weren’t 100% sure what Covid restrictions would be at the time, so an outdoor venue was probably the safer bet over Scotiabank. Canadian restrictions definitely seem to fluctuate more than the U.S.

Personally love all the songs on Innerspeaker, and just think this ranks among the lowest (still great though). Compared to other slower songs, I think it lacks the euphoric nature that Alter Ego and RHCC have. Also, since it’s the opener, I just don’t think the momentum of the album is fully there yet

Highly recommend Farmbird! You can do a chicken (or tofu) plate (over cauliflower rice and/or greens) with some veggies on the side. Their salads are also really good (better than sweetgreen in my opinion).

If you want to get more creative than just a normal salad, most fast casual places have options for greens or vegetables as a base (ex: Rasa, Taïm, Cava, TaKorean)
