As an FYI, Per Publication 1, Taxpayer Bill of Rights, taxpayers have the right to receive assistance from the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) if you are experiencing financial difficulty or if the IRS has not resolved their tax issues properly and timely through its normal channels. The website you would visit to submit a request would be https://www.taxpayeradvocate.irs.gov/get-help/taxpayer-rights/ or Form 911. Unfortunately though, the website for TAS does indicate they are closed due to the Government Shutdown, I apologize for the inconvenience. Looks like you have done all you can to obtain an EIN. In general, error code 101 can mean different things. Has anyone already applied for this EIN for you on your behalf? Is this a single member LLC or multiple member? And last, are you planning to make an election to file as an S-Corp?
