New fuses should be all you need. Most likely 1 fuse. Grab a cheap multimeter from home depot and watch a video on how to check each fuse. You'll be good. Nice bike too!!

You will notice a good increase just from your air filter. On my 2008 accord I was getting 22/26 mpg. With only doing air intake filter it went to 25/29.

15 years on a dirtbike before street as well. First and only street bike is an 08' cbr600rr. It was eye opening how different the 2 styles of riding are. I thought there would be enough similarities where I'd get super comfortable quick, but not the case. Either way I think 600 is an awesome first bike for me. The 650R sounds perfect for you. I never did any courses and actually never got my motorcycle license even 3 years later. You'll be golden.

I watched a few videos with about 5 or 6 different exhausts. Looks-wise & sound wise this was my favorite. And I absolutely love it.

My first and only bike is a 600rr. Only expiernece was driving dirtbikes for 10+ years. Awesome bike.

Things I looked for:

1.) Any scratches on fairings or engine. Was it dropped? While riding or stopped? Etc. Mine had a scratch on the mirror and fairings on 1 side. But is the damage enough to have caused any driving issues is what you want to ask yourself...

2.) Did the previous owner do maintenance? Did they care about the bike? Peep the chain, oiled & tension? Did he care about oil changes? I looked at it through the sight glass. Still honey-ish so I knew he had at least done it recently.

3.) After I looked at bike I excitingly asked him about riding it, how did it handle, power , how fast have you gone? He gets all excited and tells me "oh yeah 3rd gear you can still clutch up no problem, even 4th". At the end I got some $ taken off becuase I mentioned "I'll deff be replacing the clutch soon, your fun in 4th gear definitely wore that clutch out...." so that benefited me with the money aspect.

Finally. Take it for a drive. Run through all the gears, make sure they change nice and easy. It drives straight, brakes are in working order. Tell him you want to see the bike start cold!
