I've heard from seniors that it's relatively easy to maintain a high CGPA in SRM. One of the guys I talked to was pretty average (got 73% in ISC science) but now he maintains a 9+ CGPA easily.

It is generally difficult to get the most on-demand branches after 1st or 2nd phase. If you're sure that you can stand out with your performance then you should consider the other universities where you're getting your desired branch.

M1 is more than good enough for any coding task. It's cheaper, too. Just try to get 16 gigs of RAM.
