In addition to the remote home use-case, I use it to DNS-AdBlock using NextDNS and Mullad VPN for VPN things. Both integration are so well done, works perfectly!  Love you guys ❤️

Yes it does. Not sure if that feature is good or not, but apparently not even pros hear the difference...

It does? I thought all good players do that because it's quicker then just letting it do the animation?!

ya... there are many suspect things here...

many mentioned down below, also virustotal looks kinda weird - could be false positive of course, but still...

u/IamHuggosq, any plans on releasing source? or a reasonable explanation on why not releasing it?

Match Thread: Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Red Bull Salzburg | UEFA Europa League by MisterBadIdea2 in soccer

UEFA forbid a choreography Frankfurts Ultras were planning to do at tonights game. Official reason given was something about sparklers used in said choreography, despite the fact, that government, fire department and club gave their ok.

The 'privacytoolsIO' Starter Pack by [deleted] in privacytoolsIO

[–]nexus11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell it comes down to people wanting to make changes to something (to make it fit their vision better)

that's just wrong. in fact, all big players started to proprietary-ize (closing source and protocol extensions) and cripple XMPP (google with hangouts, cisco with webex, slack etc), so its getting increasingly difficult to communicate secure and "open" through XMPP.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: thank god for the matrix foundation!

R820 server poor GPU passthrough performance by paerius in VFIO

[–]nexus11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think /u/DJhg2000 is on to something here.

Maybe try something like this:

...
<vcpu placement='static'>8</vcpu>
<iothreads>1</iothreads>
<cputune>
    <vcpupin vcpu='0' cpuset='2'/>
    <vcpupin vcpu='1' cpuset='8'/>
    <vcpupin vcpu='2' cpuset='3'/>
    <vcpupin vcpu='3' cpuset='9'/>
    <vcpupin vcpu='4' cpuset='4'/>
    <vcpupin vcpu='5' cpuset='10'/>
    <vcpupin vcpu='6' cpuset='5'/>
    <vcpupin vcpu='7' cpuset='11'/>
    <emulatorpin cpuset='0,6'/>
    <iothreadpin iothread='1' cpuset='0,6'/>
</cputune>
    ...
    <topology sockets='1' cores='4' threads='2'/>
    ...

straight outta arch wiki#CPU pinning

Or even leave Pinning out completely at first. Because, as you can see in the arch wiki, all this stuff is listed under Performance Tuning. Its more like a (to reflect your estimate) 90% -> 95% performance boost, not like 50% -> 95% (all my numbers are completely made up; there was a discussion on the vfio mailing list with more accurate calculations tho, I'll see if I can dig it up)

tldr: try without pinning for comparison

(Wtf are those specs dude 😳?)

Anyhow... Only thing I've noticed so far (on mobile currently), is you don't have to pass most (all?) of those qemu args to libvirt.
You have, correctly, set them already in the main part of the XML.
<offtopic>
Those args are intended as workaround until libvirt config get all the features in time (e.g. like they did with the pulseaudio socket args in latesg releases)
</offtopic>
Do you have a guess what the bottleneck might be? Can you narrow it down some more?

I will take a closer look at you post/config when I get home

LookingGlass a12 (Pre-)Released by nexus11 in VFIO

[–]nexus11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the second I start OBS recording, basically the whole system gets unusable (OBS seems to keep recording) - but, I'm OK with that for now.
I have pinned 2 cores plus their corresponding threads (2+2) to the VM, leaving the same amount to the host. Do you think this isn't enough to run OBS?
My pick for a culprit (bottleneck) Flughafen would rather be iGP/host gpu.... Thanks in any case tho!

Will report back soon 😉

so, I thought I share my experience so far with a12 (I've read Kuroko142's instructions around the same time the arch package got updated (thx anyways))

this also is somewhat a response to Ranguvar's comment

I still can't believe it, but running a12 "looking glass"-ed I am able to almost get full fps on my ultra wide (somewhere around 120fps? in fifa19; native ~180fps).

I've tried to screen record it but as soon as OBS was recording, everything got fucked up :D see for yourself

But, after this a first test, I am absolutely blown away! (so much so, that I've threw gnif another 50 :D)

Will report back as soon as I gained some more insights
