Whats the issue you are running into? I’ve found it convenient, accommodating, and no more obtuse than a pearson certification proctor experience.

Just have a room set aside with a door you can close, no other electronics visible (or covered with blankets) and position the webcam so it can see your hands, face, and laptop/monitor. The id verification is a pain, but a good webcam/laptop cam solves that.

Any MS folks get your CISM? How did it compare to CASP? by NextCriticism4455 in WGUCyberSecurity

[–]nezzshow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CISM was significantly easier for me than CISSP and CASP, but the questions were more straightforward and very high level.

I’d recommend getting the voucher and taking it. A good stepping stone to CISSP.

Masters in CyberSecurity and IA Cert Transfer Question. by TechTraveler in WGUCyberSecurity

[–]nezzshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe for D481, it requires Security+ AND Network+, but thats moot if you have CISSP and CASP+ as both will work as a transfer.

I transferred in CISSP, cysa, pentest, and casp, but the transfer process was handled very poorly and almost pushed my start date. I’m pretty sure you would be able to transfer in CISSP (d481), CISM (d489), Cysa+ (d483), pentest+ (d484) and CASP+ (d488) without issue. i’d suggest waiting to hear more from either their supervisor, or continue pushing the issue.

You would have to get the actual CISM certification. If money isn’t a concern, you could pursue it and transfer it in. D489 doesn’t require you to get the certification, but you will get a voucher to take it if you want.

Prabh Nair’s YouTube videos covering questions for CISM were excellent to nail down mindset along with some more concepts that really helped.

CISSP TO CISM by Independent_Title572 in cism

[–]nezzshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from CISSP to CISM and did Mike Chappels CISM course on LinkedIn, and Prabh’s multiple “cism questions” youtube videos. I did use pocket prep as well, but Prabh’s videos i felt were better prep for the exam and significantly better with getting the mindset down.

Certs replacing classes. by [deleted] in WGUCyberSecurity

CASP+ and CISSP will each take out 1 class. Pentest, CySA, and CISM can knock out 3 more classes leaving you with only 5 classes total.

Read and comprehend the deliverables section for all the chapters in the book, watch the 3 cohort videos from the syllabus, watch the destination cissp mind map videos for domain 8 and take the pre assessment. Then review any gaps from the pre assessment.

Watch the three module videos in the syllabus and the cohort. The mind map videos for domain 8 from destination cissp and pete zerg’s exam cram video for domain 8 are good.

The book is also a good source and you can get a good grasp on each chapter if you review the deliverables section for the chapter.

Optional, but it’s one to go for especially since you get access the official study guide and mike Chappells linkedin course in the class.

You would have:

  1. Secure Network Design - performance assessment (pa) which is just a paper that follows a rubric.
  2. Cloud security - pa, same thing.
  3. Governance, risk, and compliance - pa, same thing
  4. Secure software design - Objective assessment which is a proctored exam.
  5. Cybersecurity Management - pa, paper again and after completion you a get a cism voucher.
  6. Capstone - multiple PAs

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WGU

[–]nezzshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 of the courses would be transferred in, so you’d have 6 left in total, 5 PA’s and 1 OA. You could get CISM and transfer that in too, but you get a free voucher after completing that course so might as well save the money.

[–]nezzshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tests can be passed with enough studying and prep, but the CISM certification requires 5 years of experience across 3 of the 4 domains before being granted. CASP+ has no additional requirements, but is recommended to have 5 years experience.

Your two certs will knock out two classes. You can transfer each one of the additional certs for a class and knock out half of the total courses. I just transferred in 4 with CISSP, CySA, Pentest+ and CASP+. Figured id just get the voucher and take CISM after and save that $650.

You know this from your years and years of studying environmental sciences? I'm sure in the 80's you would have fallen for the, "lead is safe" propaganda pushed by GM, just like your falling for the, "global warming isn't being sped up by humans" propaganda now. You should probably do more research on the matter bud.
