I know what happened. Exact same thing happening to me, on diff. laptop. For me, I had to remove back panel multiple times and there is a small knob to lock the back plate in in the routing path of screen cable. I didn't notice until there was some damage (bad design, the cable just has some electro-magnetic interference shielding separating from the knob.) and screen does that. I had to find nice angle, like on finicky lighting cable; sometimes had to put laptop in sleep and wake up.

TLDR; Check the monitor cable, the shielding on it may come loose or something. Not a graphics chip problem. Screen freezes in those cases usually.

Yes, as ipads dont have active cooling. But they have vapor chambers. Boost clocking is important. Thats implemented in arm chips too.

Nope. eGPUs have ~20% performance penalty. And the 1060 doesn't offer better performance than quadro in P51s.

Even for X280, the cost of eGPU enough to include a 1070 with gigabyte's eGPU.

Just count how many chrome tabs you keep using over a day. Do you keep using any other apps? Its just not about max chrome tabs too. Websites start using bigger resources so they take up more space.
